Have been offered a new job and have already given my notice at current job, starting on August 11, so will be a week from Monday. To make a long story short quit smoking on Sunday so gave myself 2 weeks to clean out, basically after i gave my notice at current job. Little backround - 5' 10" about 210 lbs, in pretty good shape, pretty active. Have been smoking for about the last 5 years or so, smoked prior to that but there was a few years in between. Up until Sunday have was going through about a half oz every 6 weeks or so, not a heavy smoker, maybe a few hits a night. 1 j would last me about 3 - 4 days, my poison of choice has been beer, drank quite a bit of that on a nightly basis. Have cut down on the beer the past few days as well, maybe 2 - 3 a night. Still keeping active, doing cardio 30 - 40 minutes a night along with other activity between work and workng around the house. Have been worried about having to pass a ua come Monday the 11th when i start. Took a test today " first check home testing kit " and it did show a very faint line, meaning negitive. Been 4 days since i smoked and kind of concerned, thought for sure it would be positive. Any insite anyone could give would be appreciated, have another 10 days left before i start and possibly have to take ua for the new job. Thanks in advance Last edited by harleyman666 : 08-01-2008 at 05:09 AM.

In the 10 days or so until you have to test, you can read here all about testing. In the mean time, keep up with the cardio, it'll help. Once you have spend a few hours reading and learning what your options are, whether or not you need to take action and why, you will feel much more comfortable with what you choose to do. Closer to test time, you might just be able to pass a home test using your first pee of the day. That would mean you could take the test for the employer without worry.

Have been researching this forum all week, wnough so that my wife is not really happy with me ( taking attention away from her ). There are just so many different stories and different suggestions, it's a lot to take in. Guess i'm trying to see if any one else has has had kind of the same track record as i have and taken a home test and tested negative after 4 days as well or there abouts that much time and later passes a ua.

| Keep up with the cardio, stay active. Drink plenty of water, and eat healthy. Also read up on testing here on the site, so you know your options and whether or not your comfortable taking the test without diluting/substituting. I think youll be fine, especially if it was a negative. But take another home test closer to test time, just to be sure. | |

Thanks, i'm going to keep up what i'm doing ( not smoking ) which has made it very difficult not to sleep the past few nights. Then take another home test later on next week, hopefully i'll still be testing negative.
