5'8", 175 lbs., been clean since June 1st, don't work out, smoked daily for about 2 years. I have been getting ready for finding a job post graduation and stopped smoking at the end of May. I started taking a vitamin b complex and took a home drug test sometime around the beginning of July. The result was negative. I was offered a job recently and took the pre-employment screening test today which I got a non-negative result and the specimen was shipped to the lab. After that clinical test, I grabbed a home drug test again on the way home and that came up negative. What are my chances that the result from the lab will still be positive? Could it be that the initial test at the clinic did detect THC but could be lower than the cut off? I'm a bit worried. The home drug kit I used today was First Check, I don't remember the brand I used back in July. Thanks for help guys.

Another possibility: The clinic gets one price for doing an instant test. They then get another fee on top of that for any that need to be confirmed at the lab. I think the clinic is bilking the employer for laboratory tests that don't need to be run. If you quit in May, and passed home tests, you should be just fine.

| My guess is that the test was non-negative for some reason other than THC metabolites. If you tested negative on a THC test at the beginning of July, there's no way you'd test positive for THC seven weeks later.

Buzzby is right, there is always the possibility that a prescription is causing the non-negative. If you take anti-depressants, prescription pain meds, ritalin, etc...

Thanks for the feedback guys. I feel a little better but am still a bit stressed about it. Almost gone through a whole pack of cigs today, lol. Anyways, I'll keep this thread updated just in case if anyone is interested or have had similar experiences. Also, I'm not on any medication so I guess that doesn't help my cause! Thanks again.
