I just took a test and i had everything planned out beforehand... I bought synthetic urine that came in a bottle w/ temp gauge on it, warmer, and rubber band... so an hour before the test i was warming that sucker with the warmer, then i took the warmer off when i saw it was 96 degrees and stuck it in my tighty whities and headed to the lab. when i was in the bathroom first thing i did was dump the synthetic urine in the testing cup then tried to squeeze a pee out(which i did, getting only a few drops). then it hit me hard, when i looked at the sample temp, it said 94. i've done this 5 times before using friends peepee donations, and i've passed all 5 times with flying colors. But out of those 5 times, i remember giving 96 degree samples... So i'm wondering about the 94 degree sample i've just given.. is 94 alright? i also noticed that the test wasn't being done at the lab.. it looked like they were shipping it off to a doctor in another state. so i'm wondering if the temperature still made a difference or not? wouldn't the lab assistant have said something to me if she noticed the temp was too low? also, i'm hoping that synthetic urine will pass the real test when the out of state doctor tests it....

You nailed it, good for you! In a week you can celebrate with a chicken dinner. Don't worry about 94, you will pass with 94 degrees. The range is generally 90 to 100, so you are close to the middle of the range. What brand of synthetic did you use? Unless there is an integrity test failure you should be irie. I guess the safest course of action, for future reference, is to make your sample warmer than 96, just in case. It is easy to drop a few degrees, it is harder to warm up a sample. If you're using a temp strip, know that they do not all read the same. I posted some findings on that topic (temp strip) a few weeks ago. Basically what I have realized is that they can have small variations and that you could lose as much as 4 degrees as I did. It is best to keep your sample as close to 100 as possible. Here is something I've been using for about a year, called the Thermo Hawk, do a google, it's a high tech infrared thermometer that is actually small enough to take with you into the test bathroom. It is made of brushed aluminum and is about the size of a pen flashlight, it has a loop for fastening too. It has a LED readout and a protective cap. In less than 2 seconds after you press the button you'll get the reading down to tenths of a degree. And it doesn't beep! Again, you do NOT have a problem with the temperature and it is accepted practice to process samples at an out of state lab. I wouldn't stress about it. ! ![]()

The "lab" where you gave your specimen was just a collection facility. 99% of all lab tests are sent off to a DHHS certified laboratory. The MRO is the doctor who reveiws the test and has nothing to do with the laboratory at all. The MRO can own the collection facility, but cannot own the lab, or own stock in the lab. The collection facility own the lab OR they can employ the MRO, but they cannot do both.

I keep a cheap walmart digital thermometer with me for double checking. If you fill the cup and its a little low just rub your thumb against your pants for a few seconds and hold it against the temp strip on the cup for a couple seconds. That'll get the temp up a little.

http://www.marijuana.com/urine-testi...ub-member.html Here is the operative word "seconds". Allow me to finish your explanation: 1- rub thumb against pants for a few seconds 2- hold it against the temp strip on the cup for a couple seconds 3- that'll get the temp up a little...FOR A FEW SECONDS Your odds are lowered if you have to rely on rubbing the temp strip as you are describing. The danger here is that a less experienced person will mistakenly consider this the most basic important tip to remember simply because they didn't take the time to read and understand. Or they are getting stoned thinking their QF has them aceing the test, their first test. How would you feel if someone went in there, started rubbing, and it didn't work? The window of opportunity is maybe 10-15 seconds at most. Sure, it's an option, but more of a gimmick with limited value in a real-life test situation. | |
