The most that is ever required is 2 ounces. Some collectors ask for more, but cannot reject a specimen if you give what is required and no more.

The circumstance dictates whether your void is observed, not the location.

Newbie here, I have a drug test tommarow which I am substituting for. I'm going to follow these guidelines. Here's my question:

On on of the links for drug-test-facts.com above the list of all these stickies, it says this...

Take the cup and urinate in it. Let it come to temperature (about 20 to 30 seconds), dump it, put in your substitution, zip it up, and hand it to the collector.

There is not enough of your urine left to contaminate the sample to a positive. The temperature will drop one or two degrees, but not enough to cause a flag.

Will this work? I really dont want to bother with my thermometer... it beeps.

I didn't do this and my temp was fine. I just poured my sub in the cup. If the urine coming out of your container is body temp, then it will be just as if you'd actually peed. The key really is to practice, practice, practice, with water, a thermometer, and your crotch, that way you'll be confident that your sample is at the right temp when the test date comes.

Don't do that. Practice at home using the container of choice and water, secure it, then check temp 1 hour later. When you get it right, repeat for the test.

Cooking thermometers don't beep.

Wouldn't it be easier to do that though? What negative effects (if any) can it have on the test? Any input on this stuff is appreciated, thanks in advance to all of you.

No it is easier because if you screw up in securing it and you dump something too cold it will driop that temp strip before you can hide the container and exit the room. The other negative is failing. Someone posted they did that and apparently their little bit of residual urine was enough to fail.

I don't know if you read it or not, but that drug test facts link has some screwed up shit on it. So robzn07 is just going on the info that is linked from this website.
