Ok, I live in the US. I'm on probation for a DUI. Must submit to random drug screening. Well, my PO is a REALLY mean woman. VERY strict, but I'm easy to get along with and we've had no problems. She kind of told me when I'd be having my drug test. I never mentioned to her about me doing drugs. I was a HEAVY, read: HEAAVVYY, daily, chronic pot smoker for 5+ years. (I am again, now).

I quit cold turkey awaiting my urine test. 11 weeks later, she pops it on me. I was somewhat prepared. I figured, SURELY I was clean. I'm 6'4" 245lbs at the beginning, after 11 weeks of working out and healthy eating, I was 225lbs. Did not smoke pot a SINGLE time.

I went in diluted. Pissed clear. Temperature 92-94 degrees (cold water, lol?). The kind of tests she has is the ones that I go in the bathroom ALONE, pee in a cup, bring it to her, wait 5 minutes, and she tells me what it says.

She asked me if I had smoked pot. I told her the truth, not since the day before my court date. She said it was barely showing up, but she'd pass me. I have one last visit. That was about 2 months ago. I've been smoking heavy again. I can't pass one. She MAY test me.

What I want to know is, with a test like this, would a synthetic urine be the way to go? I need one that keeps the temperature correct, and is RELIABLE. She is a strict.

I don't know much about the test except it maybe has lines that fade or show up, and it is a hand held thing that does not get sent off.

Thank you guys for any help. Just need opinions on what to do. No, I'm not quitting smoking :-)

Darn....if that's the way all of your drops will be then start reading and studying and PRACTICING the substitution method. When you are practicing around your home just use water. After a few times practicing maintaining temp around the house you will see how EASSSYYYY it is. Acceptable temp range is 90-100 degrees (the upper side is better).

The most reliable product is using Quick Fix 4.2. It's reheatable so if you go prepared to sub and you don't get tested, just save it until the next time. Most common form of stashing your sample is by pouring into a 2oz travel size bottle and store between 2 pair of brief style undies tight against your crotch (to retain heat).

EDIT: You might want to go read other people's stories throughout this forum for added confidence and/or suggestions and/or hints. Try a few ways until you find something that works for your environment.

Dang, I'm nervous about trying to keep it warm. I wanted something that would wrap around it, and I could just put it in a coat pocket and she'd never know.

One time I subbed and kept it on my defrost vents the way there. It was almost steaming hot! Was burning my leg (taped to it) and maxed out the temp scale on the cup (100F) even after me sitting in the waiting room for 45 minutes. I luckily distracted the nurse from saying much about it.

But this woman... she questioned me last time it was on 94 degrees. And it was truly my REAL piss. WTF? This will be my LAST visit if all goes well.

I have been around this forum reading daily for almost a year. I found much comfort and confidence from hearing others post their stories as well as investing time to practice. If you kick back with your favorite drink and snack and sit and read for a while, you will find MANY MANY ways to practice and prepare for the test. DON'T FORGET....you have to practice at home with a 2oz bottle filled with water. Good luck and keep us posted so others can learn......

If you put your sample in your coat pocket you might not get to take it into the bathroom with you.

The person administering the test is supposed to ask you to remove your jacket.

The general rule of thumb is you are asked to leave coats and bags outside bathroom and you will be asked to empty pockets in front of tester. Placing sample between 2 pair of brief style undies and tight in crotch seems to be the perferred manner in the forum. Hope that helps.

I would like to know what type of test takes 5 mins to evaluate and then shows up as "barely" ? This sounds like she was messing with you especially after 77 days clean? What type of test? Where did she take your void etc..? Sec any answers?

She used an instant type of test (a dipstick or instant cup type). If your PO says you "barely" passed, advise her to read the instructions that come with the test. A line, ANY line, indicates negative for that corresponding drug. 94 degrees is a very normal reading for a specimen. I get them at 96 degrees on occasion when the cup is very full. The instant type of cups that have the test panel built in are much thicker plastic and tend to cool off the specimen rather than the specimen heating the cup's temp strip. The usual temp for those devices by the time the donor has finished, zipped and come out of the restroom is anywhere from 90 - 94 degrees depending on the quantity of the specimen.

Synthetic will work very well on these devices.

Thanks for the helpful responses, guys. Sec seems to explain the test right on the dot. Wow, I did not know that any line indicated negative. She tried to show me a little white spot in the line on the THC part of the test. I didn't really know what I was looking at, and all the lines looked about the same. What an old hag...

By 'void', do you mean my urine? If so, after she was done looking at it and hearing me explain to her my pot story, she told me to take it back to the bathroom, flush it, and throw the cup away in the trashcan.

Do the 'instant cup type' tests show up anything else? Could I 'technically' bring in some water, colored just right, and pass a test?

I would be careful before considering taking in colored water. Some instant test strips can have an integrity strip along with a drug strip. If so, you would failed instantly.
