i've been trying to practice my sub routine using water & have come up with some questions. i know my 1st question is probably going to give everyone a really good laugh, please bear with me, i'm so freaked out about this test. to heat up my qf 4.2 for the test, i plan on pouring the qf 4.2 into a different container to avoid putting the temp strip into the microwave or dunking it into a cup of hot water. is this the typical method? i do not want to compromise the temp strip. OR should i not worry about the temp strip? i will be going from my house to the testing center but have no idea how long i'll have to wait. will it be ok if i pee in the sample cup first then pour it out & pour in qf 4.2 if i feel like the qf is not quite warm enough? thanks! sorry i'm such a hairbrained idiot about this.....stress & paranoia!

Microwaving the QF will not harm the temp strip. Therefore, it is not necessary to transfer into another container. If you use hot water to heat the QF, place the bottle in a ziplock-type baggie first. That will reduce the chance of water seeping in at the cap, which could render the QF useless. It is not necessary to practice using water. The QF is very drill-friendly - it can be heated and reheated over and over without harming it effectiveness. Keep them practice drills going.

thanks, lew!! you are my hero! so, i'm using a 2 oz shampoo bottle with an icy hot heat therapy patch on it. i'm getting a 98.1 reading for temp consistently (20 minute intervals so far) so i'm feeling pretty good. i'm stashing the bottle in my sock in case my test is observed, which sec said it prob'ly won't be, but i can't risk that. ugh, i hope i can relax about this. i just keep reading thru the stickies for encouragement. thanks again!
