Here is my break down.
Sex: male
Age: 28
Body: 175lbs 5'10" 19% body fat

Situation: I got a great job offer as most. I was a daily smoker. I would wait till I got off work to smoke but usually would get home and have several bowls by the end of the night(would split a q with wife a week). It has been 26 days since my last smoke and I have a test in the morning. My brother works in a lab doing ua's so he got me two of theri dip test's. I do not know if their cut off is 20ng or 50ng. I used one at two weeks and it came back positive. I used one this morning as a first of the morning sample figuring that a first of the morning is probably the worst sample I could provide. Both tests came back positive. I have been working out daily for the past two weeks up untill this weekend and I ususally drink alot of water with very little soda. I do have a strip nc drink and after reading some on here I do not know if I am even going to use it. I am seriously thinking about just doing the dillute method from the stickey. Do you guys have any further suggestions or ideas why I am still positive after this long of a time? I really could use this new job as it is almost a $8/hr pay raise from my current job.

Well I will post back as soon as I get the results pass/fail from my test tomorrow.

You should definetly try the dilution method. Some people just take longer to clean out. You can take much longer depending oh your body type, metabolosm, activity level, weight, etc... It is impossible to tell just from your height, weight and age.

Now, by testing yourself, you know that you will take a considerable amount of time to get clean after smoking heavily for a time.

If you can get another dip test, try diluting and test yourself again, IF it works, do that for your real employment test. If it doesn't work, then you must sub.

Also, do not bury your questions in the results thread. you don't have results yet and no one offering advice will look there.

I couldn't find the actual article but some research has found that heavy users will show a spike in THC metabolites after abstaining for a while. The article suggested that low levels occurred consistently then suddenly a huge concentration was detected.

I think "a while" meant about a month or so but I'm not sure. I'm in the same situation so I haven't been smoking for 22 days and it pisses me off that I must abstain or I won't get hired.

Thanks SEC for moving this to appropriate area. I was a little unsure if I should start a new thread or not.

What gets me is after I took the first thest this morning I went to a local shop and purchased a STAT Dip test for THC. I took that test and had one dark line and one faint line. After going to the manufacture website and reading that even a faint line should be considered a negative result it makes me wonder. I do know the second test I took today was a 50ng cut off test which is the least accurate. Being that the job I am taking my test for tomorrow is for working on a gov. installation I am feeling that they will do the 20ng cutoff test. It really sucks feeling so damn paranoid about passing this test but it is a job I really need and if I do get the job I think my days of coming home and relaxing the way I enjoy are over. Go figure I grew up with a alcoholic father and I do not drink unless it is maybe one at dinner with the wife once in a blue moon. My preference was lets smoke a bowl and eat. Never once did the two of us get violent with each other while stoned and in almost 12yrs of smoking pot off and on I (knock on wood) have never even been in a auto accident while still buzzed.

Guess I will not sleep tonight while I ponder my test.

What I have found after doing this for several years, is that the Government will test, but use theleast expensive method possible. They don't do the most strict or the lowest detectable level, they use the cheapest, easiest test possible.

the government doesnt' care about whether their employees are actually using pot or not, they only care that they meet the requirements of the Drug Free Workplace Act.

Well here is the deal.

I got up at 6am thing morning and at about 7am I took the strip nc and drank alot of water. I went to the company that I will be working for to finish some paperwork and for them to give me the locaiton of the drug testing site. Left the office at about 10:30 and stopped by the store took a heck of a piss and purchased a grape powerade. Drank that 32oz drink on the way to the testing place and I got there at 11am. The plan for the test was that I had a "urine Luck" sub strapped to my leg which was plan A and if someone was watching I was going to try to give a dillute sample from myself. Of course things don't always go to plan. The "urine luck" sub did not fill the sample enough so I started to piss and towards the end I filled the cup the rest of the way with my own urine. The tech took some of the sample and placed in two smaller vials and kept the rest in the big cup and told me one would go off to the lab for further testing. He tested one vial for ph and gravity. (passed) then he did a 12 panel on the big cup. Now all I really care about is that the tech passed me but to be completly honest I only saw one line on the THC portion of the test. Everything else was negative. He then wrote destroyed on my sheet and flushed all of the urine. Woot was I happy. He wrote up NEGATIVE on the sheet and I have no samples to go off to the lab.

Recap is I passed my test and I start work Monday. Thanks to everyone on this forums that has posted their experiences and recomendations.
