I am so please that such a great site exists...Well I dont have much time so I will get to the point. I am 5 10 200 lb 43 years. Last Wed at work i was called to the office and was signed up for a life insurance program. They told me they would be back on Tuesday for blood and urine work. Now I am assuming drug testing is involved in those samples. I freaked out....I have not smoked since Wed, so I will have a total of 5 days without smoking when the test comes up. I have been drinking tons of water and bought a detox at gnc called carb32...i plan on using it before the test on Monday and testing myself and hopefully passing it and then taking it again on Tuesday and hopefully pass............any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.....thanksssssss

Forgot to mention....been smoking for about 1 year about one joint a day.....also no one will monitor me in the bathroom when I take this test so I can add something to my sample..........................please answer quick I am freakin out

If you were a daily smoker prior to last Wednesday, then the detox drink won't help you dilute enough even it you drink it on Tuesday. Drinking it on Monday won't do anything for you but leave a bad taste in your mouth.

You should sub for the urine portion of the test. The bloodwork should be fine.

i hope this doesnt sound to negative, but unless you are going to sub the urine, odds have it, well... you know... however if it is just a life insurance policy then they just want to know what to insure you against. I don't imagine that the insurance company could tell your employer that you smoke. thats like the gas station not selling you gas because they saw you speeding... but then again I'm no expert...

Thanks for the info.....did a trial run today with a detox called "qcarbo32"
Barely passed it....there was one solid line and one faint line....I am thinking of by-passing the test and buying me some more time......any suggestions..?

Unfortunately this site is really not helping...but being a member of other sites and blogs I will keep a diary on this site of what I am doing and if it actually worked. Today was my test and guess what? I woke up with a nasty sore throat and called in. That will give me one more week, and a total of two weeks. I have done two home tests and passed both..albeit the second line was madly fainted....hopefully more days will make the line bolder..lol....I will continue to do at least 1 gallon a day and tons of exercise leading to two days prior to test when I will stop to exercise.....I just have to get over my sore throat first...today eating tons of liquids trying to rid my cold (gatorade, orange juice, coconut water and plain water, tons of vitamin c and multi............will keep all posted

Drinking water is only helpful on the day of the U/A. Drinking a lot of water days before the U/A is of no help. To find out why, see this thread:

Thanks for responding to my post; I didn't realize we are facing the same type of test. It seems you and I both have received recommendation from Sec to sub. I found the old posts from Sec (maybe not the current Sec?) recommending not to sub for insurance. I copied and pasted below. I am not sure if the quote feature would work with posts from 2006 plus I am new to this site.

Sec says drugs are not likely to be tested for insurance but my insurance company would not give specifics. Were you also told to fast for 12 hours before the test? Unless I get some additional advice before my test scheduled for tomorrow (on if I should sub with 9 year old females urine or if Sec can comment on the above from 2006 and why the recommendation is different today) I think I will try to reschedule again. And hope to dilute later...Ugh but it's already 24 days and dilution did me no good last night. Crap! What to do, what to do, the STRESS! Good luck to you (and me ).

Yeah, I hate it when someone digs up something I wrote years ago. Not that it isn't accurate, but it keeps me honest.

I still believe that for the most part, it is good to use your own urine. However; in this case, since they are also taking blood, it make sense to me that they will be able to test for disease through the blood and might test for illegal drugs through the urine. Also, there is little chance he can dilute enough to give a relatively good urine specimen without it testing positive for THC. This advice is usually given on a case by case basis. In general, I like to give advice that most everyone can take but sometimes I feel more specifics are called for.

I also wish that people would post insurance test results. I also wish that insurance companies were more forthcoming with information.
