Hi everyone - this site has been pretty helpful. I have been searching throughout the forums to find anecdotes about people's home drug tests and then their subsequent real drug tests, but it seems that these personal stories are hard to find. Specifically, I was wondering just how faint is too faint - has anyone had a home drug test that they though they may have hallucinated a line but then it turned out fine?

21 year old male
I smoked pretty much every single day from October 2008 - May 2009, taking 2 weeks off in December and 3 weeks off in April. I am a pretty heavy smoker, smoke around 3-5 js personally each day, smoking consistently for several hours every night. My friends and I smoke pretty good stuff, very potent (white widow and the like.) We never sacrifice quality, so it is very good stuff every single night. Throughout this time, I have been very active. I run 3-5 miles daily, and during this time frame also lost approximately 35 pounds (currently weigh 145 and stand 5'10.)

I have a drug test with a financial services company this coming Monday, which will make it exactly 4 weeks since I have stopped. This week I took two home drug tests just to check. My first I took halfway through the day and midstream and it was a faint line, but visible and for sure a line. I then took another test with a first morning sample just to make sure how my progress is, and the line is almost like a ghost. It is so faint that I am not sure if I am hallucinating the line.

My question is how people's real drug tests turned out from their lines. Has anyone had very ghost-like almost hallucinating lines that turned out to be fine during the real drug test. Anyone fail? I am wondering how much more I should do. I regulate what I eat and have been drinking a lot of water, cranberry juice, taking multivitamins and B complexes with Niacin, etc. I would prefer to not have to dilute my sample and try to beat the system, but this may have to be done as a precaution. Any suggestions?

From the sounds of it you will have to atleast dillute a little. Maybe 30 ounces of gatorade the morning of the UA,pee 3 or 4 times and use your midstream urine. If you can see a faint line you will be good. The lines are always faint, even with synthetic urine.

I had to take a drug test for the military and I had only been 20 days clean! I was taking the home drug test in the afternoon and I was coming up negative with a bold dark line..so i felt I was good to go...

then I read some advice on this site and it told me to use the first urine of the day on the home test just to be sure... So I did that..as soon as I woke up I took the home drug test.. and I got SO scared becasue I couldnt even SEE a line!!

but lo and behold there WAS a line...I actually had to take APART the sticky part so I could hold the strip in my hand and look..and the line was BARELY visible..but it was there so thats all that mattered.

you should be fine if it's been 4 weeks, like they said above just load up on water/Gatorade/liquids in general and keep pissing... the fact that you run everyday will definitely eliminate any toxins IF ANY toxins remain. Good luck though, I'm sure you'll be fine.
