I'm currently awaiting result of the confirmation test (not feeling very optimistic), and I will let you all know what happens. I'm not going to be "one of those" posters who comes here for a quick answer then never to return.

Unfortunately, I found this site too late to help me (I know I could have passed if I had), but if anything I post about my nightmare of a situation can help someone else avoid a similar fate, then at least I can say that some good came of it.

NEVER initial the seals prior to them being placed on the vials. The collector is supposed to complete the top portion of the custody and control form, you complete your portion (step 5) AFTER your submit the specimen and it is SEALED in the vials. You are also to witness the vials being sealed in the shipping bag.

I understand that the collector did not follow protocol, and if her boss saw her do it she would probably be in trouble. But I don't understand why this is bad for me? It seems like just following instructions would result in the least attention during the test, and thus a higher chance of a successful sub. And if I signed first is it possible I could claim that violated the chain of custody?

You actually signed the form confirming the statement that you saw the urine sealed in the vials. That the urine never left your sight prior to being sealed in the vials. If you sign prior to submitting the specimen and leave the site before the urine is sealed in the vials and shipping package, it runs the risk of being mixed up with another persons urine or being tampered with.

Next time, when she asks you to sign, read the statement and then question why you are signing that you already gave a specimen when you obviously haven't yet.

Well, after practicing what I read here - I was ready to sub!

I had been out of town for two days, and upon returning saw the possible employer had called. I called them and they gave me an offer! BUT - I had to go immediately to get tested (within 2 hours - 45 minute drive away).

I went to get the clean urine from my buddy - but he had just gone to the restroom! I waited as long as I could, then he mustered up about 45mL. Having an idea that wouldn't be enough, I mixed up a batch of Testclear as well and brought it in another centrifuge tube.

The process itself was a breeze! Please, take my advice - unless it's monitored don't worry yourself to death! But just make sure you practice a bunch - I did and still almost blew it.

I had to fill 75mL. I dumped the real and fake urine in - and the temp strip was black. I started blowing and swirling - about then heard the person outside the door say they "were hurrying but had to wait on me". I shouldn't have rushed. The temp came down, so I left and handed her the cup. But, by the time she got it the sample was back in the black - above 100!! I thought I was done...

Unexpectedly, they hollered for someone else to bring another cup, explaining "these things don't work the greatest sometimes". They dumped in the second cup, by then it was back in range and she checked the passing temp box.

So now the wait - I'd feel 100 times better but am not sure about the fake and real mix. That doesn't even bother me much - except for I'm not sure what the split test is for - the two separate vials. Anybody know? Hopefully it's not one for the test and one for determining if it's real...

At any rate, I hope by next week to be posting another one of the many "I got the job!!!!" topics...IMO the subbing method is best - I didn't trust dilution.
