| Well, after practicing what I read here - I was ready to sub! I had been out of town for two days, and upon returning saw the possible employer had called. I called them and they gave me an offer! BUT - I had to go immediately to get tested (within 2 hours - 45 minute drive away). I went to get the clean urine from my buddy - but he had just gone to the restroom! I waited as long as I could, then he mustered up about 45mL. Having an idea that wouldn't be enough, I mixed up a batch of Testclear as well and brought it in another centrifuge tube. The process itself was a breeze! Please, take my advice - unless it's monitored don't worry yourself to death! But just make sure you practice a bunch - I did and still almost blew it. I had to fill 75mL. I dumped the real and fake urine in - and the temp strip was black. I started blowing and swirling - about then heard the person outside the door say they "were hurrying but had to wait on me". I shouldn't have rushed. The temp came down, so I left and handed her the cup. But, by the time she got it the sample was back in the black - above 100!! I thought I was done... Unexpectedly, they hollered for someone else to bring another cup, explaining "these things don't work the greatest sometimes". They dumped in the second cup, by then it was back in range and she checked the passing temp box. So now the wait - I'd feel 100 times better but am not sure about the fake and real mix. That doesn't even bother me much - except for I'm not sure what the split test is for - the two separate vials. Anybody know? Hopefully it's not one for the test and one for determining if it's real... At any rate, I hope by next week to be posting another one of the many "I got the job!!!!" topics...IMO the subbing method is best - I didn't trust dilution. Thanks again all. |

| This has been answered many times, but even I can't find a specific thread to point out to you, so I will tell you why the two vials. The lab will test one and put the other in storage. If the vial they tested contains a banned substance (like opium or marijuana, for example), the MRO will call you. You then must provide a medical reason for you to have opium or marijuana in your urine. If you can't provide that medical reason (such as a prescription), then the MRO will tell you that he/she must report to the employer that you are positive for that banned substance. You then have only 72 hours to request to the MRO that he/she have that second vial send to a second laboratory and be re-tested. If the second laboratory fails to confirm the results of the first, then the test is cancelled and you are back to square one. If the second laboratory confirms the result, then you are pretty much screwed. This must be done, but most times you are required to pay for the second test, which runs anywhere from $180 - $300. Most times, if the second test overturns the results of the first, the employer will reimburse you for this expense. If the second lab confirms the results of the first, then you are found to be positive AND you are out the money. You should not request the second lab if there is any possibility that you could be positive because you will only succeed in losing money and pissing off the employer. Good question tho. By the way, I wouldn't worry about your specimen. I think it will be just fine. |

| Hey Sec - thanks for saving me the time and answering the two vial question. I was thinking last night - would it be beneficial to start a thread about what type of testing employers do? I was a little nervous as I was basically hoping this place was only urine. When the family practice place handed me my paperwork it said they could have done saliva, hair, or urine. There's a similar setup on the Testclear page but with all the visitors here we might be able to get an even more substantial list of testing by employer. At least people would know what they were getting in to ahead of time. A friend of mine was prepped for urine and hair during an interview and they sprung the saliva test on him...bummer. Anyways, just an idea. |

| Congrats!! Isn't this message board a lifesaver? Once I get my results, my next task is to figure out if there are random tests...don't know how to do that. I am ITCHING for the celebratory toke... but I have to get my results first! aaarrrrrgggghhhhh Best of luck to you!! |
