Yeah I figure that it shouldnt take too long to get it out of my system. I knew better to do it when I was job hunting but it seemed (and was) a really good idea at the time. Good **** too.

But yeah I figure I will go pick up a test in the next couple of days. And if needed I will be getting my B2 and creatine. Thanks for the info everyone

Dear N2 and gang,

Was a regular smoker, a hit or two most weekdays after work and lots every weekend, 5'11'', 210, workout 3-4 times a week. Labor day (Sept. 5) was my last hit. Was out of bud the week before that. Took a home test called UTest for THC. I tested this morning (Sept. 27) when I woke up and was negative. I am starting a new government job. Was told I would be sent testing instructions for a drug screening. I have no idea what kind of test, but the job is one I cannot let slip. Especially because I have already turned in my notice of resignation and everybody is bidding me farewell. I have read every submission on this thread and do not remember reading one that addresses this issue. I am wondering if I should go through with the dilute procedures as added security of a passing the test, or if I should just throw the dice and hope the home test was right. Also, if I were just to do a short dilute course the a day or two before the exam, how would you proceed?

Please Advise...

I would stay diluted and clean until after the test, but 3 weeks without has sure helped your cause.

You would probably pass without taking any special measures. Just to be sure, drink 24 -36 oz. of water a couple of hours before the test and pee twice before going in

Dilution doesn't do anything "a day or two before the exam". Just stay normally hydrated. Dilution works by increasing the volume of urine and thereby reducing the concentration of THC metabolites.

havent smoked in 3 mos. decide to start up again and have been smoking for 4 days. i job ive been interested in for a few months called today and want me to start in the morning. will have to take a DOT phsyical and drug test. will following N2s suggestion help me at all. need help as soon as possible thanks

My instructions dont give a date to take the exam, just list several areas where I can go to take the test in the Metro area. The offer letter is contingent on passing the drug screen. The start date is Oct. 17. I live a hour away from the test sites and most are only from 8-5 M-F. I will be working at those times at my current position. I will be in the Metro area a week from today, and may tomorrow. THat will be 30 days without sweet bud from the date of the exam, and like I say, my home test was clean...

Still dilute the day of, or will I be OK?

Should I push it out to the weekend before my start date?

Does that look suspicious? Or will they question me not taking it sooner?

I know I am over reacting by worrying too much, but this is a great job and I would hate to mess it up.

Dilution techniques take a minimum of 48 hours of abstinence to be effective. You should study up on substitution.

Substitution techniques always work, but take some practice and can't be used in a closely observed test.

when i posted yesterday i forgot to meantion that my dot test would be next week sometime. i could put off this new job for possibly 2 weeks by using the old "i've got to give a 2 weeks notice at my current job. is it possible just not to smoke for 2 weeks and be clean. i'm 5'6 155 lbs and metabolism is average. Need info soon the current job sucks
