i smoke a ton of pot. all the time. probably around an ounce a week but i dont keep track. im hefty, around 250 lbs. i have a slow metabolism, but i am also fairly healthy, and a vegetarian. i recently was arrested and was found with some ganja and im now in danger of being convicted of possession. i just want to know if i suddenly had to get drug tested tomorrow, is there anything that could make me pass? also how do they test if your urine is too diluted? is it based on color/smell or something else. i have no problem with drinking a few dozen gallons of green tea if need be.

If you want to be sure you will pass use a substituted sample, though if it is for possession they will probably watch you piss which puts the subst route out of the question.

As far a dilution, they test the specific gravity of the sample, below 1.003 is considered dilute. They will also test for creatine levels which can be kept higher via red meat or creatine pills.

You could go the dilution route with aspirin but given your stats you could still run into a problem this way. A smoker such as yourself could take over a month to clean our under normal circumstances. Dilution works by lowering the concentation of THC in the urine below threshold levels, but if your levels are really high, even the most diluted sample will still have positive levels of THC. But that is your best bet at this point.

Yep, like Mel said. Here is a copy of the DOT guidelines concerning dilute samples. Note the word and with reguards to Creatinine AND specific gravity requirments.

§ 40.93 What criteria do laboratories use to establish that a specimen is dilute or substituted?

(a) As a laboratory you must consider the primary specimen to be dilute if the creatinine concentration is less than 20 mg/dL and the specific gravity is less than 1.003, unless the criteria for a substituted specimen are met.

(b) As a laboratory you must consider the primary specimen to be substituted if the creatinine concentration is less than or equal to 5 mg/dL and the specific gravity is less than or equal to 1.001 or greater than or equal to 1.020.

So it is my understanding that if the Creatinine levels are above 20mg/dL, your SG is not relivant. Read the dilution guilelines linked to under my post. As for the green tea thing. If you enjoy drinking it, drink up, but it will not remove a single THCA metabolite from a single fat cell where it is stored. Hope that helps. N2
