| Alright so I'd say for the past 6 months or so I have been smoking very regularly at about 2 blunts a night of really good bud. I'd say about almost every night I smoke but it's not always that much sometimes only a couple bowls or so and sometimes we have a feast I'm about 5'6 and weigh around 150 lbs, work out a couple times a week but plan on working out more for the summer and have a decent metobolism. My question is that I got this new job and on my first day they gave me a little surprise and told me about how they were a drug-free company and I needed to take a pre-employment urine test that day. I agreed to taking it and signed the forms and all (knowing very well if I had taken the test that I definitely would not have passed having smoked the night before and for a very long time). What ended up happening was that it was never given to me. I did the whole flush out thing and who knows if it worked because I went to work again today and they still didn't give it to me and I'm wondering now do you think they even will or they just keep forgetting? I go into work tomorrow again but I have a feeling that again I won't be asked to take a drug test and I've already started to work there and they haven't even mentioned it. I just wanted to know if this had ever happened to other people and what the outcome was. It hasn't even been a week yet since I've smoked and it's driving me nutz. I don't even know if I'd pass the test now but I'm kinda waiting it out for a bit. Please give me some advice on this. Thanks |

| if you had to fill out forms I would say that there is a pretty good chance that you will be tested. I would still abstain from smoking at least until you feel comfortable that you won't have to take one. Maybe if you are good friends with a fellow employee you could bring up the topic to them whether or not they had to take a drug test, sound naive like you take prescription drugs or something and see if you can get any information that way. By no means should you ask your supervisor/boss about the test, since it will probably arouse suspicion. Some companies will state that there is no tolerance for drugs at the workplace but this is only a formality to protect them from burnouts, but others will in fact test their employees. In the end, it is always better to be safe than sorry. If you have already started work then I would assume they would have presented it prior to being hired and working, but I have heard of instances where they will hire someone and then a couple weeks later suprise them one morning and give them a cup and make them fill it up. Hope this helps, I know it is kind of vague, but I would hate to see you suprised by a test the day after you smoke. Cheers. |
