ok i'm not smoking now. i'm almost 19 so im not a minor. but anyways my doctor gives me drug screens every week and i want to tell him to stop urine screening me. The thing is, i don't know what to tell him why i want him to stop. i need good, thought out reasons. one reason is because it makes me feel like i have no trust but i need more reasons. if i can convince him to stop testing me, i'll have a better time! any suggestions? thanks, ssj3gotenks

If he's the doctor and you are the patient, there need be no reason unless due to your parents being the ones paying for the service- he has to go by their wishes-- sounds like you should be telling the folks that you will not test any more and deal with the consequences-- like going out and making your own life.

I would have to agree with S2. If I go to the doctor at my age and he says he is going to do a drug test every time I come in, well I would want to know why! Of course I would also refuse it as well. Taking a random or preemployment is different, or being a minor and having to do as your parents say. However, you are not a minor. Certainly I would address the situation. However, if you are young and healthy, why are you going to the doctors every week? Perhaps there is something that you are not saying, perhaps there is a medical condition that 1. requires weekly vists and 2. requires that you stay away from all drugs that may hurt you if you are on medication. Wish you luck! cherishtoday
