I had a piss test on Thursday, didn't smoke since the previous Sunday: About a 5 day period. I have a decent metabo,Im 27, and worked out/ran everyday up until the test day.

I took about a 80 count, 1 a Day bottle of Vitamins in that 5 day period. As in I took the WHOLE bottle. I drank a LOT of water, and drank 2 Medium Powerades about 3 hours before the test. I also took 5- 325mg Aspirin about 3-4 hours before the test.

Heres the wierd part: It was a 10 panel test that was issued. It said it on the piece of paper, that had directions to the Piss Clinic.

I did the the "middle Piss stream" technique where I only used the middle part of the piss stream as instructed. I was told if I pissed on Thurs. morning they would have the lab results back by Friday morning. Well Come friday afternoon, I never heard back from the Recruiting office, so I called. I called because after the test, they were to call me back and give me all the details on when and where Im supposed to be, and at what times Pending the Results(3 different shifts). The guy told me, "if something was wrong they would have known that from the beginning, so go ahead to work this weekend."

It turns out that my piss had to be tested again in a different lab, and they wouldn't have the results back til this weekend, or monday. I played it off like," is this a common occurence?" the reply: No, Everyone else's results have come back already.....except yours. So I told them please call or email me IMMEDIATELY if theres a problem....This was Friday this conversation took place. They ALWAYS get the results back in 24 hours.

So here it is monday night at 9:30 pm, and I never got a email or a call. I assume the "other" test was more complex. That's all I will assume.

Should they know by now given the info above?

I didn't want to post anything until after I knew I might be in a safe zone to speak about it(Murphy's Law reasons).

Please give me feedback so I can either keep worrying, or get on with my life.

First I am no expert, by any means. I can say though from past experience of administrating drug test for a company, that if it is sent "for further testing" it usually means that it is not a good scenerio for you. Further testing means that they have to be sure that you actually failed and for what, so I was always told that it goes to a more thorough break down. I would say 9 out of 10 that went on for more testing, Failed. This is probably not what you wanted to hear......I do hope this is NOT the case for you, but as your future employer said, it is not common that it happens.

BUT, your test may also be inconclusive cuz of ALL those vitamins you took, darn that was a lot!!! Inclusive does NOT mean fail for all labs.

I would have heard from them by now, because Im a temp to hire. Working in a clean room enviroment, thats a big liability on the recruiter and that company. Thats the only reasoning I can think of. The time window for failure I believe has passed, but I will find that out in less than 1 hour when I go into work.....Well see.

Plus, Im a bodybuilder who takes all KINDS of supplements that turn my piss, Radioactive yellow anyway. I don't think Ill ever puff treez again. It just aint worth it.

My best advice to you would be that if the test does come back positive and they question you about it, tell them that you were around people who were smoking but YOU WEREN'T. This has worked before (and is usually one of the questions you'll be asked). It's worth a try anyway.

It may be worht a try but in my experience they dont ask you ANYTHING-- they just dump you and second hand smoke has not worked as an excuse that I know of

I failed once, and they didn't ask me anything. They only said what I tested positive for, and told me that they were obligated to report it to my employer. And that it would be up to their policy what they would do from there.

Ok, Well here it is Tuesday Night at 8pm CST. I STILL have not recieved notice of a Failure.(Remember: I was to only be notified if there was a problem)

I took the Piss test on Thurs. morning, typical turn around is 24 hours from the lab. Here we are on Tuesday, and the lab is open on saturday. They communicate via fax machine.(5 business days now)

This will be the 3rd day that I'll be working in a Area that Requires a UA before your employed. I was employed temp to hire thru a recruiter, and its the recruiter who Requires this information, BEFORE you can go to work.

IF I was to hear of any "bad" news, I believe that they WOULD NOT let me continue working, and I would have several messages on my phone, and my email. I know they would leave a message saying, YOU NEED TO CALL US IMMEDIATELY!

This is a professional staffing firm that knows who I am, and would contact me IF ANY "bad" results were posted.

Im going to get on with my life, I quit smoken for good, and think this is a joke that I have to go thru this crap, all over a dam plant.

So, As far as Im concerned the time window for failure has closed, due to the "checkpoints" and policies setup by these firms. 5 days is MORE than enough time for a 24 hour lab to issue "bad" news.

Note:The recruiter told me on the Phone,"Your sample had to be tested again, but "she" would have told me on the phone from the first test if you failed, so don't worry about, and go into work."

Thats what they told me...

Well folks, here it is wed. night at 7:35pm CST....and still no word of failure, as I continue into work. Almost one 7 day period from the time I took the test with a lab that typically has a 24hour turn-around.

I still will NOT assume anything, but I think it is safe to say, my worries are over. Im the type that doesn't bank on ANYTHING, until Im very sure that is safe to.

God has proven his point that I can quit, and live a normal lifestyle with getting stoned every sober chance I get. Weed is a thing of the past for me, I have NO intentions of seeking, or using illicit drugs again. My career is more important than a 2 hour buzz.

you might want to move the anti-MJ lingo to another forum but aside from that...........further testing means they sent it off to the GC for THC, or it could be for any other drug on the panel, though I assume the drug of "abuse" you were used to was the MJ only. It would seem odd, however that you would not be notified if that was the general protocol for your company. Some companies do not tell employees of a passing test, they just brush over it and you are off to work; others will call you to tell you specifically; I think this again depends on the individual place you are working for. The policies are different.

But also keep in mind that if you do clean out and you are able to pass this test, that unless you get random testing at your workplace or if you plan on switching jobs often, this piss test may be the only one you get for a long time.

Well, here it is 7 day's now. 7 Long days of waiting, and almost 2 weeks of no smokey, smokey. To tell you the truth, the bud here sucks ass, and is SO schwag I could probably put the weed in the dam piss cup and still pass.

It sucks that I had to worry about this, but if any of you go thru a similar experience...Follow the instructions VERBATIM! And pray your Piss is not Celebrity status like mine, where they have to take it to EVERYONE and show it off. Think about this:

Job Paying 65K per year vs. Job Paying 32K Per year
Which one Drug Tests?
Which Job do you think Im at?

Thanks for ALL your help, I'd say fellow drug user's but Im clean for life, and loving it.(At least until I run across some Dankity Dank Dank )
