I just received notification from Labcorp that I tested positive for Marijuana, and they're going to notify my employer. What can I do now? Besides going ape **** and demanding a new test, what rights do I have?

| I hate to be the barer of bad news, but unless you are furtunate enough to live in a state that has laws protecting you, ie a retest, there isn't much you can do. Here is a link to state testing laws. http://urineluck.com/laws.php Hope that helps and good luck. N2

Your exact same situation happened to me. It was 2 weeks after I was hired before my employer got the results back, though. I used those two weeks to convince my employer that they needed me, that I not only performed above and beyond the expectations of the position, but that I did so many other things for the company that they couldn't afford to terminate me, positive urine screen or not. Sorry but I don't know what other advice to give you =(. As the lab probably told you, it's up to your employer what they do about the results. If you have connections, you might be able to get them to ignore it. If you don't, you still might be able to get them to ignore it if you do your job better than anyone else they have. Sorry I couldn't help you more =(

well it is going to come down to the individual place of employment, some see a positive result as automatic termination, others are more lenient. You may want to glance at the company policies to see if there is anything you can do in the case where you test positive for drugs. (You could tell them that you were at a party where it was being smoked, in the long run most employers will not buy this excuse but it is possible to ingest enough smoke at a party to test positive [of course you would have to be in a room with pretty thick smoke for a pretty long time]) When in doubt, however, honesty is always your best friend ![]()

I guess the lesson is that GNC CLEANSING PILLS DON"T WORK!!!!! I took about a bottle and a half in the week leading up to the test. I was also taking 1000mg of cranberry concentrate. Drank four 32oz bottles of gatorade before the test.

yeah I mentioned passive smoke and it is kind of funny because I found myself talking to a doctor last weekend and I actually touched on the topic with him (how we came to the discussion I will never understand), anyway, he told me that he has had cases where the Emergency Dept of his hospital will admit patients who are having anxiety attacks from being in rooms where pot smoke was around (and they did not indulge, many have witnesses at the hospital, from the party, to back up the patient's word), and they tested positive on their toxicology tests for MJ. He did state to me that it is a fact that you can inhale enough smoke to get high or catch a buzz, especially if you are someone who does not smoke and naturally have no THC in the body. But he did say that you would have to breathe in a lot of smoke, over the period of hours, in an indoor setting, before you will test positive on hospital dipstick tests, which have a 50ng/ml cutoff level. So though it may not be a huge issue, passive smoke, as a rule, usually will not test positive in urine, though there have been instances where it has ocurred
