| Basically, in this post I'm looking for peace of mind. I took a pre-employement drug screen on Monday. I did the best I could to flush my system for the week previous and espescially the day of the test. At my current job, I sat and drank water for most of the day the day of the test, and pissed about 3 to 5 times beforehand (took my vitamins for color as well). I drank 20oz more water on the way to the test, caught it mid stream and gave the bare minimum sample. The last time I smoked was 10 days before the test and before that it was about 2 months (very casual smoker). I have a fast metabolism--I eat anything and stay pretty much the same weight and am about 5'8"/135-140 lbs. My main concern is everything I read about THC being stored in fat cells. For whatever reasons (genetic I'm assuming), I have high cholesterol (300 or so when I was 20 -- I'm now 25.. I can only assume it's somewhat higher now as I'm less active as I was then). Does that mean that it will take longer for me to clean my system of toxins? Thanks K |

| no an elevated cholesterol level does not necessarily determine your metabolic rate or your rate of fat cell turnover. Cholesterol can be a problem healthwise, but in terms of detox, the high cholesterol body is going to be about the same in terms of detox times. Keep in mind many people have high levels of cholesterol though they follow low fat, healthy diets, and don't weight much (like in your case, you have high chol yet you only way 140 pounds and you are 5'8) If you are obese and have chronically high cholesterol, of course you are going to need longer than the skinny guy; however, the obesity is what leads to the longer detox time; not the elevated cholesterol levels. |
