Hi everyone, I'm new to this board... haven't had a use for it in a while.. I've been in charge of computers at banks that transfer billions of dollars a day and have never had to take a drug test for a job before. (They did a very intensive criminal background check but no drug tests.. go figure LOL) Now I'm trying to get the same job I had 10 years ago out of high school in a supermarket to make ends meet and I've just had to take a drug test for it!

Now here's the thing that I hope someone can answer or at least give me some morally reassuring best-guesses...

Substance history: Smoked, drank, snorted, popped just about everything I could get my hands on back in the day. Stopped everything but weed about 95. Stopped weed about 99 and started taking GHB when you could buy it in the health food stores. Stopped GHB when they took it off the shelf (after the FDA found out that companies were selling a "dietary supplement" that metabolized into an illegal drug I guess they got kinda mad LOL) and then started drinking and pills. Now I'm clean off everything - except benzo's. I haven't smoked bud in a year, and even then it was a dime every few days for a month or two when I was seeing this woman (not like the oz of thai I used to burn a week or anything) so I know I don't have to worry about that. I've taken a few (10 tops) Vicodin ES's about a month ago when I had two teeth removed - not prescribed though but I can just tell the MRO I had them sitting around and he can verify the oral surgery easily enough - IF they're even still in my system which I doubt. I had a serious Clonopin habit that I quit last October. I still have a stash of Xanax and some Clonopin and Ambien (benzo-related sleeping pill) and I take a few at a clip every once in a while to chill out or help sleep. I also take Ephedrine sometimes if I didn't sleep well and have to stay up.

Anyway, I KNOW that benzo's are probably gonna be in my urine.. I only had two days to prepare for the test and I did a 7-day detox in those two days with tons of water along with a "maximum strength double-detox drink" about 3 hrs before the test (bottle says 1 hour before and good for 7 hrs afterwards), followed by 2 20 oz cups of coffee and about 60 oz of water (bottle recommends 32 oz of water.)

Test was taken at Quest, it was a 6405H SAP 5-50 GC/MS. Piss came out a nice normal yellow color, I made sure the detox drinks had creatine and B-6/B-12 (2663% of the USRDA of the vitamin B's!!!) The SAP 5-50 doesn't test for Benzo's, so I'm not really worried about that.. What I am worried about is the Ephedrine coming up as a false positive for Amphetamines during the EMIT and it throwing it to a GC/MS test. If that happens I know the Ephedrine won't be a problem because it's legal here (hell I buy it at the kwik-e-mart when I get my cigarettes - down the street from the supermarket I applied to) and the GC/MS will be able to tell that it's not Amphetamines.

But here's my question... if the test DOES go to GC/MS due to a false on the Ephedrine or (I don't know how the EMITs work) if the EMIT just shows positive because it detects anything (the benzos even though they're not spec'd)... when they do the GC/MS will they be specifically looking for the "big 5" or will they be analyzing it to find out just what the hell all is in my piss and report that to my prospective boss? Basically, even though the company didn't request a test for benzo's will they report them if they happen to find them while looking for what the company DID request?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Hindsight being 20-20 I wish I would have just bought some piss off the net and substituted... this is the first piss test I've ever taken with no monitoring whatsoever, I mean as long as I kept it under my clothes I could have easily walked in there with someone else's piss at the right temp..
