| Ok my dilema is much like everyone else's I've read except I haven't read anything about if a person is not thin and athletic. I have many questions, but I will try to keep it simple. First of all, for an occasional smoker, how long does one days worth of entertainment stay in the system? I've read anywhere from 10 days to a month? That is a long span of time when a test is waiting for you. Also what if a person is over weight , not working out or running 115 miles a day? My particular situation is: Have not smoked in 10 years, then of course as luck would have it I did on one fun-filled weekend and came back to work to find out a drug test is waiting right around the corner, anywhere from 6-15 days after such incident. I am 50 pounds over weight, and I took maybe 10 hits over a two day period. I do not think that I could pull off the urinator or a donor or anything like that. So I am thinking that trying to get it out of my system is my best bet. I've been drinking tons of water, and taking any vitamin supplement that states "speedes up metabolism", I am sure that I am sending my system into turmoil, but I am PANICING!!!!!!!!!!!!! What is your advice??? |

| well, most likely a couple days of smoking should not linger around in your system for too long when compared to a lot of people on these boards that smoke daily and have been doing that for some time. With that said, your outlook is pretty good; someone who has abstained for that long and then indulged for only a couple days should probably only need a couple weeks to clean out, maybe less. Overweight people are going to need a little more time, but it also depends on your metabolic rate. Since your concern is the extra weight you have, I would continue to drink water and take vitamins, but I would try to stay clear of too many vitamins that speed up metabolism since a lot of them contain substances that can speed up your heart and cause other complications. With that said, drinking water helps, but don't overdo it; a simple regimen of about 6-16 oz glasses a day is sufficient. Also, try to stick to a low fat high fiber diet until test time comes. The reason the window for detox time is so large is because so many of us have different body chemistries, and it is hard to pinpoint an exact timeframe for detox from person to person. Your best be would be to zip on down to your local drugstore and get a home test and test yourself after a week or so to see how you are doing on your detox. If you are not comfortable with the subst. method, you can always dilute, and you would have a very good chance of a passing grade with mild dilution come test time. Again, I cannot stress the importance of taking a home test to not only confirm your cleanliness, but to put your mind at ease. It is not really necessary to load up on fluids, however, until the day of the test. And if you plan on doing any exercise prior to your deadline, make sure you stop about 24 hours prior to your test. The problem with cannabanoids is that they do not leave the body quickly; since they love to sit and hang out in our fat cells, and since fat cells usually have a pretty low turnover rate in the body, the cannabanoids are going to remain longer in your system than any other type of drug. Detoxing from MJ is very difficult; the only real friends you have in the battle are exercise, time, and patience. Read the dilution thread posted on this forum for more detailed info on the dilution route.
