I Got urined by my Probation Officer the other day and the test (Monitect BC10) had a light pink line instead of a dark line beside THC, COC and C came up dark red as usual. My question is, how the hell did this happen? I looked on the internet for anything that may cause false positives but I don't think I had any of those. A week before this test I had came home to my house where they had a party, there was no smoke in the air but I had suspected that someone may of smoked it at my house, but my PO tells me you cannot come up positive by 2nd hand inhalation. Of course I wasn't really POSITIVE in the sense that a line actually showed up, but why was the line only faintly red is my question instead of dark red? I have honestly NEVER smoked marijuana in my life, would that make me more susceptible to the slightest 2nd hand inhalation of it? This has got me confused and has put doubt in my PO's mind I am sure. but I am being punished for something I didn't do, what should I do?

Well it's been a little while later, I walked down to Rite-Aid and bought a First Check Home Drug Test for THC. I guess my curiousity, IE Im trying to save my own ass because I didn't do anything, kicked in. Well I tested negative and something in the book that struck me as odd was that it said it did not matter the intensity of the line or the faintness, a line means negative and no line positive. Was my PO playing the role pretending that the density mattered to try to divulge some hidden information that I don't give? (Even though there isn't any) Do all tests function off the principle that a line is negative and no line is positive or is there actually some tests which perform that way, keep in mind his test was BC10 by monitect.

some tests will say that the line color/intensity does not matter; others will say to take a darker line to mean you are at a lower level in your system compared to a more faint line. Most likely you may have caused a faint line from ingesting some substance that may have reacted with the test he gave you. While I cannot answer for you what your steps would be in terms of legal reasons, I would ask for a retest, and maybe post in the legal/PYR forums to see if there are any LEO's out there that can give you some legal advice. There is a long list of substances that cause false positives for THC, so search around and make certain you did not take anything like this. Also, I would strongly suggest a retest, and possibly find out what kind of brand test he used and try to research how that test works. Hope that helps; probations sucks!

You are exactaly right about your P.O. giving you a line of crap. He was trying to get you to devulge information without him having to send the sample out for confirmation. If he has a doublt, that's exactaly what he'll do, and the confirmation test will show that you are clean. So, don't worry, the truth is on your side in this case, and your P.O. is the one who's showed who the liar is. He has probably never been on this site or any where else to educate himself to the variables of drug testing. I was told by my P.O. that it was impossible to fail from second hand smoke also. After doing actuall research, I learned it is not entirely impossible, although it is unlikely. Hang in there. You'll get through this...especially if you do not do drugs. Best of luck!!

YO man, first of all why are you on probation any way? What put you there to begin with? Was it a felony charge or Misdermeanor? Do you have any alcohol charges on your record? I just am curious, because I am on Misdermeanor probation for a non-alchhol/drug related charge and have never been tested. However, I am going in to see my PO for the last time, and she is going to put me on non-reporting probation. I am just worried she may test me before she lets me go just to be a witch. If you know what I mean?

Can't and won't delvulge that. But I can tell you that I know plenty about the legal system, and the probation protocal. Your here on this site posting a thread, so obviously, they did the confirmation test, and found it to be clean. The chances of you P.O. testing you on your last visit are 50/50. If your original charges are drug related, I'd say chances are better that you will be tested. I checked in today....P.O. called me back to the drug testing area...rubber gloves on, and a stack of drug tests in front of us... Signed my off, and said.."see ya next month" Didn't test me at all. But, I don't fool myself... it will happen eventually. Looks like your very close to putting it all behind you. That's excellent!! Good Luck Wizard
