knotting it is not recommended since it is going to be hard to get the urine out; using a rubber band will most likely cause leakage. The best method, I have found, is to use a twistie-tie to close it, like you would use to close a loaf of bread or a trash bag. These are the easiest to use, and are easy to obtain; just be careful with the twisty tie to not expose any of the wire end of the twisty tie, which can puncture the condom and cause leakage; for this reason most twist ties are covered in a paper type substance.

best way to carry it is in a shampoo bottle; get a cup of coffee on the way and submerge the bottle into the coffee cup and watch the temp on the shampoo bottle until it gets to around 100 degrees or so; get a temp strip from your local drugstore
