Hi,

ive gots me a pre-employment screening comin up tomorrow, and just wondering how much second hand smoke really effects the testing...

my roomate smokes on average 4 or 5 times a day in my room, many times when im in it. its a fairly large size bedroom and i make him turn the fan on and i usually cover my face with a cloth or my shirt, but not always. ive never really felt high, but i still have inhaled some excess smoke.

Should i go through the trouble of diluting?

If you don't smoke yourself then just go and take the test; for added assurance, urinate once before you go so you don't give your first urine of the day; but second hand smoke, though it will bring metabolites into your system, will rarely, if ever, bring the levels above 50ng/ml, the cutoff. Labs have tailored their tests to give a little wiggle room in terms of level, 50ng/ml is way higher than any level would be for a second hand smoke exposure, unless of course you were using a gas mask or in a small non-ventilated room for hours and hours with thick cloudy smoke.
