Thank you! Is it odd that the company wants me to come into their place to do it instead of at a lab? I start Monday and they want me to come in tomorrow for the test. I'm about four weeks clean of marijuana and I took an at home test about a week ago and it was negative. Should I worry that they might have more sensitive tests or am I home free?

Hi Wantsajob - I would say you are "probably" OK. If the coompany is large enough to have a company nurse and/or wellness program, they likely have the nurse perform the test. Is it a large union population or manufacuring? My experience has been that those companies manage the testing proces on-site to make the random testing process cheaper and "tighter". Virtually no time window to "clean out", and your corporate HR judge & jury are right there! Sorry, I've seen the "employer side" for too long!

Thanks Ragdoll! It's in financial services and they are sending it to the lab. I should hear if it's bad news by Friday. After three at home tests being negative I should be fine, but I can't seem not to panic about it! I really want the job. One person told me they do random tests, but another said they only do the random if someone seems to be having a problem at work.

Yeah, I'd say you should be cool - I'll be thinking of you tomorrow! Hope the news is OK . And I know what you mean about feeling panicky. Until you know you're in the "clear" *wink* it's natural. And I wouldn't worry too much about the random. Most employers who test also reserve the right to do randoms, but generally they don't go to the trouble unless they're very sure they're gonna score. Too much liability and hassle.

Remember to let us know the outcome! Hope you get to have a nice big bowlful in celebration friday night!

I have to take a pee test in the morning before 10:45. Does anyone know if you can use an infants urine? She is on formula only and I am thinking of putting her pee in a condom and inserting it into my vagina. If she is on formula only and no solid foods, will they know? Please someone answer me soon. If I can't use hers I have a friend willing to donate but she is bi-polar and takes a lot of meds. Xanex is one of them. The lab is LabOne in Los Angeles and the test is for Walmart. H E L P !!!!!! If I do not pass this test I am headed for divorce court!

I PASSED!!! I called up and asked if everything was OK for me to start and they said yes, we're like the doctor's office. If you don't hear from us, everything is OK.

HOORAY! Thanks everyone for all your help. I still don't feel comfortable smoking though, like they're going to come back somehow and say we need another sample or something. Boy, do I need a j!

congratulations. I was in a similar situation as my job never tested me this time, but I quit and stayed clean for two weeks after I started. What I like to tell people around here after they pass a test is to wait until you get your first paycheck, and smoke to that for the first time

Melanotaenia, that's very solid advice! They're not going to put through the tons of official paperwork until they actually have that documentation from the lab. Congratulations wantsajob! I think Melanotaenia is right, stay cool for a while & celebrate that first "improved" paycheck!
