I have to submit to weekly UA'a until my court trial is over. They use EMIT. Anyway, I thought i'd share the sheet they gave me which explaines the guidlines I have to follow.
* Refrain from consuming exessive amounts of fluids prior to submitting a urine sample.
*Refrain from entering and/or remaining in an environment containing illegal substances.
*Refrain from any physical contact with or handling illegal drugs.
*Refrain from injesting foods that contain poppy seed and coca tea products.
*Provide this Agency with valid documentation of all prescribed medications.
*I understand that I should not consume (8) ounces of fluids at least (3) hours prior to a drug test. I understand the requirements of my drug testing or treatment condition as listed above. I also understand these conditions remain in effect until my case(s) is closed or my release conditions are modified or revoked.

Personal Note: I was arrested for a simple assult. My lawyers are very optimistic that the case will be dismissed and the arrest expunged (but thats another story). In my jurisdiction everyone that is locked up has to pee in a cup. Ironically I passed, don't know how because I was high when I was arrested and am a chronic smoker. I have gotton mixed opiones as to whether or not they test for pot or not. Anyway, after I was arrested I was interviewed by a pretrial person. They asked if I use any drugs. Assuming I had no chance of passing the test I just took, I told her that I had smoked a little pot (BIG MISTAKE). Anyway, even know I passed the first test since I admitted use I have to pee every week until the trial is over (probably a month or two) Moral of the story = NEVER ADMIT TO USE, let the tests determine that. As to what I typed above, I never knew that an innocent person could be told not to drink water or eat begals. Oh well, when I have more energy i'll post my expieriences with the weekly tests.

Any comments and insight would be appreciated, just don't call me a retard for admitting use.....

This could easily be circumvented by using a gatorade/salt combination in a ratio that keeps your specific gravity levels up; other than that, they are probably just trying to cover themselves against the hassle of people who may have, in the past, caused a lot of problems by diluting, eating foods that cause false positives for other drugs, and the like.

Good luck; the best thing to do, since it is not that long, is to quit until it is all over.

gatorade/salt has NOTHING to do with the specific gravity of your urine. They generally will do what is called a "creatinine" level which cancels out all other possibilities since it is a metabolite of waste. This is how your kidney functions are tested to see if they are working properly. As far as your problem with your pretrial condition, they WILL test for all drugs especially since your confession. My suggestion is that you live up to your pretrial conditions and try to detoxify yourself during this time. regardless of whether it is an assult or DWI, they will do testing on you.

Hmm that is odd because specific gravity is the amount of dissolved salts in your urine, and salt is salt is salt, so if you use a salt/electrolyte mixture like gatorade and salt, you WILL be retaining a higher S.G. compared to if you were to consume ONLY water with no electrolytes or salts.

This has been documented many times before.

But is is true that if your creatinine levels are too low, then this will cause suspicion, even if in fact your S.G. level is above the cutoff of 1.003

Isn't that why you simply take a creatine supp. 72 hours before your test to raise your creatine level? Thats an easy way of getting around that. I might be wrong still learning.
