HEY Everyone,

I just took a cotton swab test yesterday and The last time I smoked was about 3 to 4 days ago before that. Now I have heard that cotton swabs only are effective within a 24 hours of the last time you smoked. Is that true or do I have something I need to be worried about? Thanks for reading and i appericiate your responces.

I wiegh 200 lbs and I have a fast matabolism and I am a casual smoker. The last time I smoked was about 3 to 4 days ago, and before that maybe 2 days. I really don't smoke a whole lot compared to a lot of potheads but I was made to take a cotton swab test yesterday where on this plastic stick is a cotton swab, and they made be place it between my cheek and my bottom jaw. They let it sit there for about 10 to 15 mins then placed it in a tube. I heard that the swab tests are only good if you smoked in the past 24 hours but I only heard that from a different post on this site. I was wondering if this is true and me smoking 3 days before but not since is ok because the test is short term, or do I have something to worry about and will THC stay in my saliva longer than a day? I know the tests test for AMPH, CANN, COCA, OPIAT, & PCP. I thank you for any Info over this test that you could provide.

Cotton swab do you mean saliva test? Did they take a swab or the inside of the mouth? If so, 1-48 hour positive window for THC metabolites TOPS. If you were clean four days, and this is the test you took, you passed.

Thank you for your responce. I guess I am just nervous because I wasn't really expecting the test, and I didn't really remember how long it has been since I smoked. I do know that it was a little over 55 hours since I smoked so I am guessing I should be ok, and if not oh well. Thanks again.
