I have to take a not-DOT drug test next week and was wondering if it was possible to go to a lab independently and get a personal test on my own beforehand. I have taken a home test which says I am negative, but I am doubtful as I just quit a week ago and have been somking heavily before than.

If so, does anybody know how much it would cost?

Also, how long it takes to get the result?

Home Tests are ususally pretty accurate. Go buy another Home Test and use the first urine of the day. If you can pass with that you've got no problem. No need to waste extra money at a lab. Good Luck....

if you want an official lab test you can get one from any Quest or LabCorp or a local lab, and should only take 1-2 business days; they can also do a GC/MS test to give you an exact ng/ml level in your urine, so if you are at the beginning of your detox cycle, you will know how long you will need to clean out. This service should cost you anywhere from 50-100 dollars, you may be able to get one through your doctor and possibly have insurance pay for it, if you have health coverage.

P.S. Quest and LabCorp are everywhere, and so you should be able to find either/or within 30 minutes of your home, especially if you live near any medical centers or doctor's offices.
