i thnk i remember reading somewhere here in one of the threads that sports drinks like powerade and gatorade are better for dillution than water becuase they have positive effects on spec. grav. and color or something like that...

so my question is?

is there any difference between powerade and gatorade and their effects on specific gravity and/or color of your piss? Which one is better, Or does it not matter?

...also will excedrin work in causing a false negative?

I'd say they're pretty close to eachother in terms of salt (which is what specific gravity is), but Powerade also has some Vitamin B in it to keep your pee a bit more yellow.

Just drink whatever is available; if you don't have any vitamin B pills than get Powerade though.

any thoughts on the excedrin? thats all i have at the moment...


oh yeah and another thing...does protein help raise specific gravity levels?

Both Powerade and Gatorade contain Vitamin B.

If it doesn't contain aspirin then NO it will not cause a false negative. I'm not 100% if excedrin contains aspirin or not. Just go out to a local pharmacy and buy some generic 325mg Aspirin. Good Luck...

Excedrin is a mixture of caffeine, aspirin, and acetaminophen (tylenol). Be careful not to take too much-- you can overdose on caffeine on a dose as low as 700 mg.

whoa..thanks for the heads up on the caffeine

well i just passed a home test after 11 days clean so i may not need the aspirin after all...will come in handy for future references as i will soon have to deal with a P.O.
