Alright guys. I've been pretty nervous since I found out I'm going to be taking a pre-employment drug screen soon. I'll provide as many details as possible. I'm testing for an internship at a major investment firm in Los Angeles. Being a college student, its only normal that I smoke a little herb here and there. Regardless, I went and bought one of those detox drinks, but just can't trust it, and have decided on subsitution.

The test is at Quest Diagnostics and is a SAP 10-50/2000 W/NIT test.

I went out and bought a cheap thermometer from Rite Aid and a hand sanitizer bottle to crotch. I intend on wearing a pair of "tighty whities" with a hand warmer underneathe to keep everything warm. I'm currently running temperature trials (even as I write this!) and I'm going to make sure I'm confident in maintaining a certain temperature as I go in. Now, my questions lie in who I ask to pee for me. Now, from what I've read you guys say there is no way to tell gender in these tests. I intend on asking a girlfriend of mine to pee for me, but she is assuring me that they test for gender in these types of things. I told her no, but I just need another confirmation on that.

Also, the bottle I brought holds what it says on the bottle as "59ml", do I need to find a bigger bottle than this or am I going to be safe if I top it off.

Last but not least, the actual delivery. What do you guys suggest as the best way to do it. I read someone who just uses both hands and pees into the toilet at the same time. Do you guys recommend making the dump first, and then peeing or what? Let me know what has caused you guys all the least amount of stress.

The type of testing location I'm going to is called:

"EMSI-Los Angeles (DRUG TESTING ONLY-Preferred 3rd party)"

Is there anything additional I should expect from a Drug Testing only facility? Are they going to supervise me while I test? Or is it the same scenario at all Quest facilities? Please, let me know.

I still have yet to hear of anyone being observed for a Pre-Employment UA. Is it possible? Probably but since joining these forums and frequently checking them I haven't heard of one person being observed. Good Luck...

This may ease your mind a little.... I called quest today to make my appointment, (MY form also says drug testing - 3rd party, same as yours). Anyway, I asked for an appointment for Friday and the lady that answered the phone said that the woman that is in charge of the test is out on Friday so I had to make it for Monday. I take that as only 1 person is doing this type of testing and would probably not leave the area unattended to follow you. I've read alot of the posts here and I haven't heard of anyone from quest going in and watching you. Also. I told her that I have the flu (which I actually do) and would any medicine cause my test to err. She asked me what type, I said OTC and she said no. BUT , I have read on here that decongestants give a false positive so who knows. I'm not going to take any just in case!

I just took a Quest test today at one of the third party test sites too. I had to make an appointment, fill out a form, and show photo ID. Then they asked me to leave my purse behind (I am a female) and the male who was certified to do the testing led me to a bathroom. The tank lid was taped down and he waiting outside the door for me but did not observe me. I then did my thing and handed him the container. He took it from me and went into another area where he spilt the sample and took the temp. I had passed two home tests today and been clean 27 days so I really hope to pass and will post the results for you all when I know them.
