I have done much research on urine testing, and it seems that the general consensus is that the upper bounds of testing positive for THC is 30 days. However, I have to take a drug test for a job I have recently acquired and am very nervous. I have not smoked since Dec 30th, 2004 and want to know if it would be possible for me to fail? Just fyi, I am about 5' 11" and 150lbs and eat all the time, so I am sure my metabolism is pretty high.

Secondly, I had to fill out a form for a background check and noticed it said that previous drug tests could be taken into account. I failed a drug test a few years ago, and wonder if that information could be disclosed and possibly cause me to lose the job? The drug test I failed was for another job I applied for during college.

Any information regarding these questions would be greatly appreciated. I cannot afford to lose this job. This is the first "career" type job offer I have accepted and want to make sure everything is ok.

You'll pass the test if you don't smoke inbetween now and your drug screen. Honestly couldn't tell you about the failed drug test in the past. Good Luck...

Go buy a home test kit and test yourself.
First elimination.
If you pass that, you should be fine.
If not, make sure you read about dilution and subbing.
I don't know why anyone would have access to those results. Technically, they become property of the company that tested you. In order to get to that information, they would need to know that you applied to that job. As you know, chances are you - like many of us - have applied to quite a few jobs, and there is no reason for a company to ask information about employees that were never hired.
I guess what I am trying to say is: How would they know where you applied to work? Chances are, those 'records' have been destroyed.
I don't think you are in any problem here. Sounds to me like your mind is playing tricks on you and you may be overanalyzing things.
Perhaps it may be of signifigance if you were an employee who failed a random drug test. That would be easy to find out, and falls into the realm of what a company can discuss.

Killavanilla, that makes perfect sense about the previous test. I was not sure where the results of the test would go after analysis.

Also, the company sent me the drug test papers, and told me to go whenever I have a chance. So, I can still put it off another week or two as I do not start until Feb 28th.
