i'd call them up and tell them what your employer said about not having the results and get something settled with them.

personally, as long as you didn't get flagged for dillution (which is unlikley) you passed

I called them this morning to hopefully find out whether I passed or not, and the girl said the place I went to only collects the sample, then sends it off to the place that actually tests it. I'm extremely anxious. I'm hoping it just got lost in the mail, and they'll be able to fax it over to my future(?) employer. I can't imagine that I failed and they failed to notify either myself or my employer.

I talked to my potential employer today, and they were able to confirm that I did in fact show up at the testing center, so she said they'd have to talk to some other agency (whether it's within the company or not, I'm not sure) about a possible resolution to the situation. She said that because they never received the results, that I'd been kicked out of the computer system, which is why they were in no hurry to contact me. Since she knows I was there, though, I don't know what they'll say.

Here's a question, though:
They know I showed up for the piss test now, but they apparently still don't have my results. What do you think they'll do now? It's now obviously their problem that my results never made it to my employer, but since they've done nothing illegal, I don't doubt that they could call me and ask me to retest. If they do, I'll do S2's dilution method, hoping it works since I smoked a quarter-ounce of hydro in the 14 days following my initial test, the last day of which was last Thursday. That doesn't help the anxiety of still not having a job, though. A joint would certainly relieve some anxiety, but it's the one thing I can't parttake in on the assumption that they're going to call me back to retest. Arg. I've heard some accounts where a company made the hire anyway, on account of it being the testing center's problem for having lost my test. Would they retest me, or hire me anyway, or something bizarre and abject I can't even imagine? Maybe no one can answer that, but it's relieving to ask anyway.

Sounds fishy for sure.
Unfortunately, the employer needs to contact the test site, but you should probably call them anyway.
If you explain that the employer never received the scores, they might tell you that SOME companies give the employers an 800 number to access test results, or they might contact your employer to rectify the error.
If you ask me, and I'm hoping I'm wrong, it sounds like an excuse so that they didn't have to confront you about their decision not to hire you. This way, they blame it on a mixup and don't make you feel bad. If so, you might want to ask about them giving you another shot.
Some companies have been known to tell the person to reapply in 90 days - plenty of time to clean up.
Again, I hope there is some easy solution and you get the gig.

I think they did contact them, which is how they confirmed that I'd shown up at the testsite in the first place...When I called the test site the other day, they told me they only collect the sample then send it off for actual testing, and the girl on the phone didn't seem too inclined to give me any info about the site that actually does the testing. I talked to the employer this morning and she had talked to the test site to confirm I'd shown up to pee, and she seems genuinely interested in getting me hired. Otherwise, she seems like she'd be a pretty hateful person, so I don't think she'd even give me the time of day if I'd failed. She's been pretty eager to help getting this thing figured out, but it's entirely possible that she's trying to sugarcoat it. I told her today that I had quit my other job the day this new company offered me one, which was 20 days ago, and that I was eager to get started, and she said they'd figure something out and call me tomorrow. If I'd failed and she knew it, wouldn't she just have closed the situation so she didn't have to worry about it? This company's been jerking me around the entire time, though. It sucks that there's no indicatory evidence to even subtly point me in the direction of an outcome. One of the most important things I have learned in my life is that an interview process has two sides; The side I (the potential employee) show them and the side they (the potential employer) show me. I would be very skeptical about a job like this, as the whole process would have soured me on the company. The way they handled this may be an indication of the way they handle everything.
Just a thought.

Agreed, and wholeheartedly at that...I'm definitely soured on my Sears experience thus far. At this point, the only thing that keeps me hanging on is that after they offered me a job, I quit at my other job (couldn't be avoided, unfortunately) so I really need to hold out for this one. Luckily (perhaps), I got a phonecall today from another company (ExpressMen) to set up an interview for tomorrow. I'm saying a prayer that the interview goes successfully so I won't even have to worry about the Sears fiasco any longer. It makes me so mad I could spit which, considering my generally peaceful disposition and typical marijuana intake, is relatively difficult to do. I'd never be so bitter as to call them and give them a piece of my mind regarding this whole scenario, but I'd like to. Then again, I don't know that they won't call me tomorrow and tell me to report for training, which I'd have to do even as angry as I am. Arg. At this point, my head's spinning so fast I'm going to try to harness the energy to light my first joint when it's all said and done. Hopefully I'll have good news soon; further bulletins as events warrant.

The overarching downer is that, even if I do get the job and everything goes hunky-dory, it's only supposed to last me until August, at which point I'll start in grad school, so it's not like a career make-or-break scenario. I'm having to sweat all this over a job that's just supposed to get me through some downtime. Arg yet again.

I would not worry about a faint line on a home test I took home tests with faint lines and overworried the directions in the test I took specifically said a faint line is still a neg test doesn't matter if faint or dark it has to do with the batch of tests that are manufactured sometimes they are just made to give anyone a faint line for a neg test the manufacturer I called was at 18774663837 if you want to confirm The rest of your concerns seem to be for nothing Can't say for sure, but from what you say, more than likely you were negative Did you follow the instructions exactly with the product you used? if so, you will be totally fine with 23 days clean You want to home test before lab testing in your situation, before when I had daily use, it took me 7 weeks to clean out (dailyxseveral years) I clean out in about a week with one time, 3 day use. But it sounds like you were clean I would be more worried about dilution I do not know if they test for dilution with the test you described good questions in your situation might be...
Anyone know if they test for specific gravity and creatine with a standard neg. test? will they check for specific gravity & creatine if urine looks colored? Is an emit test diff. from gs/mc testing? Find out your lab test type that was taken. Hope it turns out for you let us know
