I am worried about taking a drug test for the post office. I put in my application 3 years ago and I just got a letter 2/18/05. I have a interview on 2/22/05. The last time i smoked was 02/06/05. I smoked 3 joints a week for over a year. This job is very important to me. I am 50 years old 5'1" 120 lbs. How long should it take for me to have a clean urine sample. They send you to the dr. office for the drug test. I would think that the Dr. office would send the sample off to Lab Corp.

i have searched and I cannot let my 20 year old catch me on the computer. Will I be safe by 02/25/05? What if I drink plenty of cranberry juice?

I will never smoke again if I can get this job. I used to smoke years ago in the 70s and then I stopped for 20 years or so. I have only recently started back. I really want this job. Surely after 3 weeks I should have a ok urine sample. Do those home tests work?

With three weeks, you have a pretty good chance of passing. If you work out regularly, you have an even higher chance. There are a few things you can do to help your chances even more.

1. Drink plenty of gatorade the day of the test, but not so much your urine is clear. This will help dilute the sample, and the electrolytes in the gatorade will keep the specific gravity up.
2. Eat an aspirin or two the day of the test. I don't remember exactly why this works-- it's either because aspirin dilutes your bloodstream or because the salicylic acid reacts with the test.
3. Don't give your first pee of the day. It will contain more of the metabolite they test for than your second or third pees.
4. Buy a home test and see if you pass. As melanotaenia said, they work.

This information was adapted from S2's aspirin dilution method. It contains some very good information, and many have passed with it. It should be easy to find-- search for "aspirin" or "dilution", for example. I also believe it's sticky on the urine forum.

that would be kinda iffy. i would drink a lot of water for a couple of days. go to a pipe shop and by some detox stuff. make sure to read the instructions. because you are smaller you should be okay

I just took a test (6633N SAP 10-50 GC/MS). They immediatley send it somewhere, so there is no immediate way of knowing if I passed or not. I am a 5'11' female weighing 145 lbs. I am very active and hadnt burned in 13 days. Before that i would burn a bowl everyday. I workout about 5 days a week, and took XXTra clean before the test, even thought I am not 200lbs and heavier. Also the only thing I drink is water. Do any of you have a clue to how long it will take for me to find out, and what you think my shot is. My life pretty much depends on this thing. Pre employment with a relocation move that I want so bad. My nerves are on edge. Is this the normal test also?
