17 days ago i smoked out for the only time in about 3 months prior. Today I had a urine test, which I thought was going to be a blood test(the guy at the office i will work at said that, and he was wrong). I weigh 200 6'2'', though not all that much fat, a lot of muscle. The urine wasn't as diluted and what not as I would have liked, but it wasn't the worst, not clear, but not super yellow. I think my chances are very good, after researching online, but thought I'd see if anyone had some insight.

like mel said, i bet you're good. if you're clean, then you smoke, your body get's it out so much faster as compared to an everyday smoker.

for instance:

i smoked last year almost everyday, and in january i quit for 15.5 days (was clean on day 14.5 with a home test/first piss of the day). i was just under 20 ng/ml.

after that, being clean, i smoked for a weekend. quit for 11 days, passed with my first pee of the day on day 10, and on day 11...let's just say i was under 10 ng/ml

alright thanks for the input guys i'll tell you if i passed...its important b/c its for an environmental engineering intern position...job security and what not, even though i'd rather go to grad school after i hook up my degree but 10$/hour is pretty sweet. peace

so, the results have yet to get to the office, but i was thinking that the lab would probably have called me by now if something was wrong, do you think that's right? the test was mailed on tuesday(had it done after mailtime on monday) and it's now saturday.

i don't think the lab would call you, they report to your employer who paid for the test, then the employer will tell you if there's a problem. this could even take more than a week, like mine did... but they don't usually say anything about it if you passed. i'd suggest calling the employer monday morning and ask if they have a start date for you yet, but act confident that you know you passed the test, no doubt. good luck

alright, i was just thinking that maybe sometimes the lab might give you a call to find out if you ate anything like poppyseeds or something else that might give a false positive, especially since i think in my case, if i failed, it would be probably not be by much. good idea about calling...i already had talked to them yesterday about when to start, and they said they were still waiting on the test and everything, to give them a call early next week and find out when i could start and what not. thanks for the input, i read all about stuff concerning the tests themselves, but i don't know much about how long it takes the labs and their procedures when people fail and what not.

so it's been over two weeks since the test now(two weeks and a day), and apparently the results haven't been sent back yet. He said he figured they'd hear early this week, and would be in touch to discuss when to start and what not. Is it possible at all that the doctor I went to for it f*cked up and didn't get it in the mail? They seemed rather unorganized(took them a good 5-10 minutes to find the kit they needed, I even pissed into a non standard cup at first before they found the kit). It was late in the day so they were going to "put it in the mail tomorrow".

doctor's don't usually mess up standardized drug screenings like that; most likely just the nature of the wait for the results from the lab.

it turns out that the place had mailed me a copy as well, and i don't check my mail often so i wasn't sure...i guess the employer thought that i knew and was waiting on me even. nonetheless, i did pass.
