I attempted to use the substitution method and made a huge mistake. I intended to use a clean, freeze-dried sample from an online source (not synthetic) stored in a condom internally (obviously I'm a girl). I practiced popping the filled condoms at least 10 times prior to the test and seemed to have it under control. It was a pre-employment test and there ended up being no observer. I was still a little freaked out by the whole thing and attempted to do it as discreetly as possible. I screwed up and the condom burst. I got about 40-50 ml into the cup. It was very close to the line, so I thought she might accept it. She didn't. I went back and had to decide between pouring out the safe sample and using my own or just topping it off with my own. I decided on filling it the rest of the way with my own. I increased the sample with my own urine to slightly above the line. To be conservative the spilt was probably 60/40 clean/my own.

My stats are as follows:
5'10", 150 lbs, pretty fast metabolism
Once or twice per day user for extended period, stopped smoking 14 days ago.
Drank about 8 glasses of water prior to test and took 1300 mg of aspirin 3 hrs prior. (just in case)
Passed a home test (AtHome) earlier this morning with very pale line.

The test was 38525N SAP 5-50/300 w/NIT at Qwest. The lady probably thought I was crazy (my hands shake visibly under stress), but the sheet was filled out, no remarks, passed the temp test, sample looked fine.

What are the chances here?

I didn't get caught cheating, which was my biggest fear. But, can they tell the sample is from two sources? I would assume no if it is just the dip test. If they can, will it read inconclusive or cheating. If not, what are the chances I passed with this mixture?

I feel awful, embarrassed and so stressed. There are too many variables. Can someone knowledgable give me an assessment of the situation?

You probably passed. Even though 14 days is generally fairly short for clean times, you did eliminate a lot of what was in your body in those 14 days. And to top it off, you diluted the sample by 60%.

Thanks for the positive response. So, you don't think there's a problem with the two source of urine? Have you ever heard of someone passing with two? Urine's urine, right (Just with different stuff in it)?

Also, has anyone ever heard of that test? I'm assuming it's a standard emit, since there's no GS/MC in the name.

If it is just the standard test, they will not be able to detect a difference. If it is the GC/MS, they might be able to detect the synthetic urine, depending on its ingredients. (I don't know what they make fake urine from, though).

It's actually not synthetic, but freeze-dried human urine. I'd just like to try to enjoy my weekend. Grrr!

I agree that you should be just fine. Realisticly, you probably would have passed without the substitution. You were probably very diluted to begin with.
I had a similar usage pattern (once or twice a day for the most part) for a good chunk of eight years. We share similar build/metabolism types as well. I passed after about 14 days with dilution. Granted, I cleaned out quickly, but there is some evidence that regular smokers tend to pass testing with less time than more occasional and chronic smokers )(you know you're out there
If the paperwork was clean and you substituted properly (and that dried pee stuff is kosher) than I predict success.
Good luck, let us know what happened.....
btw we took the same test at quest (although mine was in chicago) and it was a standard emit test with GC/MS confirmation (in the event of a positive only) with a 50 ngl cutoff. Pretty much the standard in pre-employment screens.....

Thanks guys! I feel better with every positive response. I've gone through the variables and math in my head a hundred times. My boyfriend even called the manufacturer of the at home test. Their representative confirmed the level was 50 ng/ml and that even the faintest line meant negative. So, as long as the powder was good...

i bet you're fine. you cleaned out alot and may not have been totally clean, but that plus the synthetic urine should be under 50, especially since you passed with your own on a home test.

not to put a damper in your spirits but....and keep in mind this kid only quit smoking the weekend before a monday test....an ex boyfriend substituted, didn't have enough piss, so (this is what he told me mind you, he was a jobless loser dumped shortly after this) he spit (WTF?!?!?!) into the cup to get it to the line???? I don't even know how this is possible. Anyway he failed, come to think of it, don't even listen to me, as I type it it sounds more and more of a fabricated story
