Default Dilution... water/gatorade only?

Hello, I am
5'11"
180
less than athletic
slower metabolism
smoked once a day for a month before quitting

I am applying for a job with a local railroad. I know that I will have a pre-employment physical and unrine test. I quit as soon as I could...
by the time of the test I will be anywhere from 32-42 day clean (minus one big hit I took on day 7 in a lapse of judgement) I am running 1-2 miles twice a day and drinking lots of water. I know I will be taking a NIDA drug test and I am not sure if that will be the EMIT or gastro whatever test.

Anyways with that many days clean I know my levels will be way down, so I don't want to over do it with the diluting process. My question is: If I drink coke or pepsi(maybe 1 or 2 an hour for like 6 hours before the test) will that work to dilute my pee and also still give it that healthy yellow color? Also, is that enough to mess with the gravity of my pee?? I will also be taking 2 asprin an hour during the 6 hours up until the test.

I'd say that was overdoing it. Twelve cans of soda over six hours is over a gallon of liquid. Half that would be more appropriate. If you want to improve the color, taking some B-vitamin complex would be the way to go.

If I drank twelve cans of cola in six hours I'd be twitching from all the caffeine and in a coma from all the sugar. I wouldn't be able to hit the cup!

After a month of abstinence your levels are going to be pretty low. There's no need to take extreme measures.

Default coloring liquids...

are there any liquids besides cola that help to color your urine while also working to dilute it?

Like a previous reply already mentioned B-vitamins will work the best. Vitamin C also supposedly works... you don't necessarily have to take vitamin suppliments either, eating hi-vitamin foods will do it just the same... seems like a smarter route to me because if you megadose on vitamins using suppliments your pee will turn neon green and could also raise suspicion.

I love my V-8 juice and notice that after drinking a 12oz can my urine is quite dark for the better part of the day, so that might be a good way to go... drink some the night before and more in the morning of the test... although I know some people hate the stuff.

Fiber also helps keep the THC metabolites in your back-end as opposed to urinating them out the front-side. :-) Metabolites are actually exreted through your stool, they only get into the urine when the stool sits in your intestines and they travel through the blood and are filtered out by the kidneys, so staying regular makes that happen less. Grab a box of bran flakes that are vitamin fortefied... most are, just look on the side and see that they have 100% of a bunch of things, have it for breakfast a few days leading up to and on the day of the test and you should have some pretty healthily-yellow looking pee, as well as the added benefit of having slightly less THC circulating around your blood to make its way into your kidneys to begin with.
