Got tested today. I remember reading that taking Vitamin-B will make urine yellow if your diluting a little. What I did not realize is the dosage recomended before the test. About 3 hrs. prior to the test I had probably 3 1/2 Vitamin-B pills in my body (maybe 300-400 mg of the stuff) along with plenty of Gatorade. So I urinated and it was REALLY neon yellow. I saw the nurse drop a few drips on the testing strip and a few on this other paper strip that I had no clue what it was (anybody know?). The results were vertually instant and I'm almost sure I passed from what I could see over her shoulder (rose colored lines throughout). She trashed the test strip and flushed the remaining urine in the cup down the toilet. Then she made a few quick checks on the carbon copied form and I was off for my physical with the doctor. What worries me is if it is normal to have really bright yellow urine once in a while from anything. Do you think she got suspicious? Nothing was said to me any time right after the test. Should I be worried she'll say something or mention something on the form or even send it out for the gc/ms? AHHHHH!

Not a thing wrong with vitamin yellow pee. If you had failed that instant test, she would have told you. Congrats on passing!!!

You passed. Don't sweat it as N2 stated they would have told you whether or not you had failed right then and there. Don't worry about the yellow pee because normal people who take supplements containing vitamin B will make lightly diluded urine very yellow as yours probably looked.

Message to purehonda97..............great!!! I always love to hear one more story of another victory. Not to worry about the color of your urine. Good news is you passed!!! Anyway, any kind of medication (including vitamins) can alter the color of urine. There is a medication for bladder infections, that makes you pee purple. Think purple Kool-Aid. And another one that makes you pee reddish /orange called peridum. (When you have a really bad bladder infection it burns like hell...these pills numb your bladder) Taking alot of vitamins can change the color, drinking alot of soda, practically anything. I too have had the same experience with "kriptonite" colored urine after consuming the XXXtra Clean detox drink, and my sample was sent to a lab.
Everything turned out fine.
REMEMBER: That these nurses and lab techs that are running your sample that this is just their job...most don't care if you alter your urine. They are just trying to move you along to get to the next patient...so they can go home....
