Does anybody know what kind drug test that Quest Diagnostics uses for pre-employment? EIA or GM/CS

I think it may matter what your company requests, but I just got mine done today, and the form said GM/CS on it, and it was quest diagnostics.

My test that I am taking next week is by Quest. I forget the whole name of it, but it has 5-50 NIT in the name. I found out the 5-50 has to do with the fact that there is a 50ng cutoff. This means it is EMIT.

31505N SAP 5-50 w/NIT

31505 is the code
SAP - Substance abuse (don't know the P)
5-50 - checking for 5 drugs with 50ng cutoff
w/NIT - With nitrates. Looking for adulterants.

What does the 50ng cutoff mean?

They look for at least 50 nanograms of toxin.

Actually, they look for a "concentration" of 50 ng/ml. A single drop of urine at a concentration of 50 ng/ml is only about 2.5 ng of toxin mass, since there are approximately 20 drops in a milileter. But the concentration is still 50 ng/ml.
