Hi all,

First I have to say thanks to this board, however, it's both freaked me out and put my mind at ease.

Here's my story.

I only smoke a few times a year. Last year I got a DUI an was put on probation in February. Over Memorial day weekend I had a party and smoked a few hits. That was a Sunday. I had a PO meeting on June 2nd. (4 days later.) I totally forgot I was on P, and I guess totally a goof as to the fact my PO might piss test me. Anyway, I called her to let her know I needed to see her earlier than my appointment time (stupid in hindsight!). (I called @ 11:00am, my original appt was @ 3:30Pm.) She said "Ok, but drink some water, cause I'm going to drug test you." Holy sh--!

I then called my only friend I know that's a "regular" ...he told me to drink a gallon of green tea, goldenseal, also told me to get to a head shop, but I didn't have time...(I told my PO I'd be there in an hour.)

So here are my stats: I'm 5'9", female, 160 lbs, slow to medium metab., but have been trying to raise it in the past few weeks. I also started a diet where I've cut out all sodium, sugar, fat, low protein, and over 100 ozs of H20 a day.

So, I went and took the test after about 15 pees (it was clear as water, and I'm sure there was no creatine count, no sodium), was nervous acting, came home and found this board.

After I read this board, I went out and got a home test, and it immediately came up negative, but it was 4 hours after the real test.

Now, tomorrow is day two (business days) of waiting, and I'm freaking the **** out.

Comments? (Just no "how stupid can you be?" comments...I've been beating myself up all weekend.)

Your test will probably come back diluted and they'll retest.

So if I were to hear from her tomorrow, for example, which would then be 8 days for a retest, how would I fare?

She already knows I drink over a gallon of water a day....would it be negative dilute, or positive dilute?

If I was your PO I'd tell you to lay off the water for a day so I could get a meaningful test.

My question(s) are:...since the result will probabably come back as "dilute".

Do you think it will be a negative dilute?

And, for the next few days, what should I do "just in case" I get called back?

What if it comes back as positive dilute? ?????

"Negative dilute" and "positive dilute" don't refer to results of a test. They're what the testing agency decides to do about a dilute result. I suspect that the probation department won't accept a dilute result and will require you to produce one that is not dilute. If you fail to do so they will probably interpret your dilute result as a positive because you are trying to beat the test.

The trick to dilution is to not dilute so much that your sample appears dilute. You should take measures to boost creatinine levels, specific gravity, and color. Everything you need to know is in the following linked threads:

I did eat a big steak yesterday (I'm damn near vegatarian normally), and actually felt great after doing so! I also take Multi-vitamins, and B-vitamins daily, the only problem was that I took the vitamins way too early morning. I also take niacin daily, so if that's a help, then I already do it.

I fear though, that I didn't take any aspirin, and sure wish I had taken two seconds to find this site before I bounded off to take my test.

Thank you so much, whatever the outcome. The one thing I've learned (well, two), is to enjoy our journey...and the second...don't be a dumba** and smoke on probation!

diluting is about 1% affective, its more of a desperate measure. if you dropped negative in the home test im sure your okay.

Is this guy correct? 1% or he another know it all? I thought it was much more successfully given you are about a week or more clean.

He's another know-it-all.

Dilution works very well if your THCA levels aren't too high. We recommend that people who are going to use dilution techniques try it out before the real test and do a home test to see if dilution will be effective for them. That way, if dilution doesn't work you can go to Plan "B". (Or would that be Plan "S"?)

The advantage of using dilution is that you can't mess up the procedure at the testing place.
