I am a STRESSED OUT WIFE worried about my hubby. Brief intro....we went on vacation last week and he smoked a little for a few days (he don't smoke) so it took very little. After he returned to work they had a random and he had not smoked in 7 complete days. My at home drug screens have a cut off of 50ng for THC and one had a very faint line on sunday morning (4 days after he stopped) and then they got him almost 3 days later. The line on the last test was more visible yet still not as dark as control line and he took it 7 hrs after they gave it to him at work. This was his au natural urine. other than some water nothin altered it. They're orders were35536N SAP 10-50/300 GC/MS. Anyone know what this means? (I seen the other post about this just wondered how ImN2pot knew what it was?)Cause I pray he is right? I have been searching the internet and found nothing. Relieved because I found this forum.......

What is an EMIT test and how does it work? How accurate are the iscreen dip sticks at 50 ng? If there was a line that said negative(no matter how dark) does that mean it is below 50ng? And do these orders mean confirm GC/MS only if positive or just automatically confirm at 50/300? So sorry to ramble- I just feel horrible because he is a good guy(hardly parties) because of the nature of his job and i am worried that a little fun could cost him his job? Any information would be greatful or just a little pep talk would help!!!! Cause I am stressed out!!!!!

From what I have understood on this site the 35536N= the lab SAP=Substance Abuse Panel 10= 10 drugs tested for 50= 50ng/mL cutoff for THC and it's a GASCHROMATOGRAPHY test?? I have taken two at home tests and both of my test lines were faint, but I read the instuctions a little harder and it stated that as long as there is a line next to the "T" no matter it's itensity. You are negative.

So those home tests use a 50 ng/mL cutoff just like your husbands work test so you should be okay. Just be glad you don't have to take a 10-20 like me!!!
Which is a 20ng/mL cutoff.

Thanks so much for your response. Do they use the GC/MS with the EMIT test or only when they need to confirm a positive? Its crazy stressing out over this crap. How long does it take for results?? Im not sure if the cutoff is 50ng at his job but i was hoping since the orders said SAP10-50/300GC/MS.
But I am not sure what that means?

I have a friend who smokes daily and he got called in to take a random and he was freaking, but he just drank a lot of water and ate a big breakfast and he passed. his test was identical to your husbands...

GC/MS cost $150 and is ONLY used to confirm an initial possitive. Negitive results are GENERALLY sent to the employer within 72 hours.

Thanks so much for the input! What exactly is the Enzyme Immunoassay test? Is it a dipped panel or something a little more detailed?
