We all know that the Federal government is the culprit behind stringnet drug testing in the workplace. I've been reading some articles that talk about the increasing number of cheaters on urine tests & the Feds are beginning to implement blood, saliva & hair drug testing. From what I've read, it was a little vague on the details....

My question is this: I have an interview coming up for a Federal job. I want this job MAJORLY. It pays more than I've ever been paid. I don't do drugs except MJ & it royally pisses me off that I am otherwise qualified except for this. I worked my ass off in college to make top grades to qualify for a job like this...ok, are there any federal employees here that can tell me if some agencies still use urine tests? Are they all going for the hair follicle tests now?Blood tests? I am sure I will find out more in my interview (maybe) but I don't want to wait until a contingent job offer has been made before figuring out what the heck I'm going to do to fix this.

Unfortunately these days the feds and big business are basically sleeping together.
You need to decide which is more important......this job you desire or your buds. CONFORM OR BE CAST OUT!!!!

And......if by chance they drug test in a way which could detect ILLEGAL drug use in your system from way back when.....then either explain it to them that you were NO different than former president Bill Clinton and MILLIONS of other people in society. If the President of the US can become president having used marijuana or someone become mayor of Washington DC and be a known crackhead......then WHY can't YOU be a good candidate for the job you seek?

Or.....are they truly believing they are actually going to find squeaky clean angels....incarnate. Preferably a virgin too? IF they DO believe this then THEY ARE the ones living in Fantasyland.....in which case you need to ask yourself.....is THIS the kind of employer I really WANT? Or is this the job I really NEED?
Money won't buy happiness but it sure makes misery easier to cope with.

It was rummored that Pres. Bush used cocaine and whiskey when he was younger also. But there are no end to hypocrytes in high offices. If they would just legalize MJ it would solve a lot of problems like jail overcrowding and tax money problems.

Awesome link. Looks like I will likely do a urine test. We've used synthetic urine in the past & although I am nervous about doing it, I will.

I had my interview today & nothing was mentioned but I am sure they will ask if the job is offered.

Yes, I agree that it sucks BIG TIME that we have to hide who we are. I know I am intelligent & perfectly capable of performing the job duties, but unfortunately these jerks think they know-it-all. I would love to be in a position to say, "hey f*ck you, I'm a pothead & proud of it"...that's not the case however, I have a family to think about and they pay out the a$$ & I deserve it
