Default Non reg DOT screen?

Hello everyone, what a great site this is. I'm not sure if my question involves drug testing or not. But i figured this is as good a place as any to start. I recently applied for a job and it said that a non reg DOT screen would be given. Again, I am not sure if this is a type of drug test or perhaps a background check or something. But if anybody has ever heard of this could they please enlighten me as to what it is all about............thanks.

It translates into, you will have a drug screen that does not conform with the DOT drug testing regulations 49 CFR Part 40.
That means the employer chooses what drugs to test for and what cutoff levels to set.
Hope that helps. N2

Thanks N2 you really know your stuff. I guess the fact that the employer will choose which drugs to test for and at what levels could be either good or bad.

Yea. While the 'standard' cutoff for the initial screen for THC in urine test is 50ng/mL, I've seen them at 20ng/mL and 100ng/mL on occasion for nonDOT.
