After a couple hours of reading here, I have not found anyone else in this forum talk about this. I just received a job offer and accepted. I was told that I would be receiving some info and "a drug test" in the mail next week. I was prepared for subsitution at a lab, but this throws me for a loop.

What kind of test can they send me in the mail, and more importantly, that I can send to somewhere? I am really getting worried that it may be hair instead of urine, but it would be really easy for me to subsitute someone else's hair, you know?

Bottom line question: Has anyone received a pre-employment drug test through the mail? What kind was it? Hair? Blood? Urine?

I really appreciate any info because I had a decent plan going and now it's shot. It may be the easiest substitution ever, or I'm totally screwed.

It could be anything. Wait and see what comes in the mail. Whatever it is you should be able to pass it seeing your giving it.

Have you ever even HEARD of a drug test being self-administered? Because that's retarded. I have a bad feeling about this...

That's why I said wait till you get the mail. It could be a hair test, saliva, or a Urine dip Test. It could also be a list of doctors that will be in your neighborhood that take the test results from you.

It could be the "paperwork" for the drug test along with where you go to test. Maybe they do this to prevent you from driving to, them ,and to a sight and so on. If it is just the paperwork, hopefully it says the kind of test you'll have to take.

good ideas folks, I thought maybe it's just the paperwork for a lab somewhere in the area. I looked my prospective employer up on the internet testing list and it said that they test urine. I'm just wondering if anyone has ever heard of having a drug test sent to them in the mail. Mentally, I'm prepared for a lab. But who the hell knows what'll come in the mail?

maybe theyll send you one of those lame ass lab employees in the mail and when you open the box he will jump out and search you and squeeze some piss out of you and test you right there... just a thought...

Well, just to add a little bit of closure to this, I got the "drug test" in the mail today and it's just a form and a piece of paper telling me where to go. I'm getting a 6405N SAP 5-50 GC/MS from Quest. Yay! I guess...

I am going to be tested in the next few weeks...I assume. What are the chances that a school district would use a hair test? I know these are pricey.

Of all pre-employment types of testing. What are the guessimated % hair tests are used?
