I took a "6633N SAP 10-50 GC/MS" test for preemployment on monday. Results came back today negative but diluted. (I drank two 32oz bottles of gatoraide in like four hours, pee was pretty clear.)

I understand that on this test they only us the GC/MS (15ng/ml) to confirm a positive on the EMIT(50ng/ml). Because my last test was diluted will they go straight to the 15ng/ml cutoff?

I smoked one bowl of dank 22 days ago. This was my first in well over a month. I am 6' 140lbs. I work outside on a farm (over 100 degrees here today). Should I be this paranoid.

My re-test is tommorrow morning.

It's very probable that you would pass a test without doing anything. Go to your local drugstore, buy a home THC test, and find out. At most you'd need a small amount of dilution.

As you found out, it's not hard to over dilute. To use a large dilution you need to consider creatinine and specific gravity levels. If it's an EMIT test you can use aspirin to mask THC metabolites.

Thanks Buzzby. I went to every drugstore in town (a small town at that) and they are all out of drug tests. (walgreens did have one coke test)

I guess I'll hope for the best.

Would anyone know if the re-test is more strict than the first? Refering to watching you go, or using the 15ng/ml cutoff first.

i passed a dip stick test but failed a gc/ms test having 20ng/ml. The cutoff, generally for GC/MS is 15 ng/mL,. An initial immunoassay screen will count the total of all 31 THC metabolites with a cutoff of 50ng/mL while the GC/MS only counts 1 metabolite, THC-COOH, with a cutoff or 15ng/mL. THC-COOH metabolites make up aprox 1/3 of the total THC metabolite count.

Cutoff levels will be the same, but a few places do observe when retested due to a dilute result. They want to insure that you didn't add toilet water.

I just got back from my retest. N2 your right, the doctor watched me this time so I wasn't able to go midstream, but it still looked like dasani.

The nurse then gave me a 15 minute lecture on specific gravity and how my kidneys probably just work really well. She said that if it came back diluted again they would know that was just the way by urine is.(not to mention I woke up at 5:30 and drank like a gallon of fluids.)

Oh and just before I started to go in the cup I told the doctor I usually charge $25 dollars for this show.

Now I just wait for the test results tommorrow.

Hey jmb3r that was a good response to the DR. I had a buddy that had to be observed and while the man that was watching him he looked at him and winked and smiled while holding his wanker and said its a nice one isn't it and the guy turned bright read and turned his back to him while he was giving the sample.
