| I passed my urine pre-employment drug test yesterday. I did a lot of research online to prepare for my test. I wanted to post my results to thank those that helped me. I used a combination of advise from N2's substitution method and the link from the web site http://www.**********/en/drugs/legal.../drugtest.html. THE SUPPLIES/COST: BARD'S LEG BAG DISPOZ-A-BAG MED 19 OZ ANTI-REFLUX VALVE; FLIP-FLO DRAIN VALVE; 4.5 inch DRAIN TUBE; 18 INCH LATEX EXTENSION TUBE ($6.38) I tested the anti-reflux valve with the cap removed from the top of the bag with fluid inside. I found no leakage with this product. *Read manufacturer's instructions prior to use.* VICK'S CHILDREN'S THERMOMETERS (WEARABLE CHILDREN'S UNDERARM THERMOMETERS) ($4.99). (To use, make sure the dispoz-a-bag is dry. Place the disposable thermometer on the outside of the bag. Thermometer will record the approximate temp (to 104.8 degrees fahrenheit) of the urine in the bag). According to package note: The thermometer will adhere to the armpit through bathing. *Read manufacturer's instructions prior to use.* DUCT TAPE ($5.99) *Read manufacturer's instructions prior to use.* BABY BULB EAR SYRINGE ($3.99) *Read manufacturer's instructions prior to use.* Suggestions prior to procedure: Test the dispoz-a-bag for leakage using bottled water. Fill the dispoz-a-bag with bottled water (equal to the amount of urine to be used during the drug test). Familiarize yourself with the flow rate of the fluid released from the flip-flo drain valve. Choose the clothing to be worn during the drug test. Practice securing and moving around with the bag/liquid in place. THE PROCEDURE: 1.Obtain a "clean" urine sample. ("Fresh" urine is best used.) 2.Use the ear syringe to transfer the urine from the sample cup into the disoz-a-bag. (The bag is easily filled by removing the cap from the top of the dispoz-a-bag. Secure the cap in place after filling). 4.WARMING THE URINE: Heat a pot of water. Remove the pot of water from the stove. Place a bowl of cold water next to the pot. (Used for cooling). Submerge the dispoz-a-bag (with urine) in the HOT water. Allow to sit until the urine is heated as desired. Carefully remove the dispoz-a-bag from the HOT water. (Alternate using the HOT and COLD water to obtain the appopriate temperature. I suggest 104-105 degrees fahrenheit. PLEASE RESPOND IF INCORRECT. A Children's Disposable Thermometer placed on the outside of the dispoz-a-bag will give an approximate temp reading). The temperature of the urine will rest against your skin to conceal the dispoz-a-bag. Please make sure the temp of the bag/urine is suitable for your comfort. 5.Wipe off the outside of the bag to make sure it is dry. 6.Duct tape the dispoz-a-bag (with 2-5 oz of urine) to the stomach area. A sports bra/tank top may help to flatten the bag. The cap at the top of the dispoz-a-bag will be concealed by the sports bra/tank top. Make sure the valves are securely in place. 7.Position the flip-flo drain valve at the pant waistline. The drain tube should rest near your leg. THE EXPERIENCE: I chose to dress in a black suit with jacket (unbuttoned) and a black button up shirt. The black helped camouflage the bulk of the bag. The button up shirt tucked into the pants created an explanation for the slight bulk of the bag at the waistline. After filling out my paperwork, the female employee explained the drug testing procedures. I washed my hands (without soap) and dried them. The emloyee said there was no running water in the restroom. She then put blue dye in the toilet. No tank with water. She said if I flushed the toilet I would have to retake the test that day. She placed the cup on the sink edge and told me to fill to the 45 mL line. A thermometer was on the outside of the cup. She did not ask me to empty out my pockets, take off my suit jacket or observe my sample collection. I locked the door, pulled the valve and filled the cup. The temp came out to about 96 degrees. She handed me the receipt for my test. According to my LabOne receipt, they conducted a 9 panel/THC 50 test. Other test options included 9 panel/THC 50/OX and urine alcohol. It had questions regarding specimen temperature: has been read within 4 minutes? Within range of 90-100 degrees fahrenheit/32-38 degrees centigrade? If no, record actual temp. I was scared when I first thought about doing a substitution during a drug test. When I took the test I was nervous at first. I decided I was going to do this and get away with it. I upped my confidence. It was cool when it was over with. I beat their game. Waiting for the phone call is nothing because I know that I passed and I got the job. It was honestly one of the easiest things I have ever done. |

| Exactly. I'm no lady but substitution is the way to go. I think people let the fear of potentially placing themselves in a very embarassing situation dissuade them from using substitution. I bet 9 out of 10 in the sub-club walked out of the testing facility thinking, "geez, that was easy. what was i so worried about?" |
