I took a urine test Monday, July 18th and didn't hear anything. Today I went in for job testing (did excellent) and paperwork. I was supposed to be leaving Sunday for out-of-state training, yet the manager informed me that my test results were diluted. He asked if I could retake it today, I gave a "feminine" excuse and we decided to postpone out-of-state training until August 15th. Yet, I'm not clean. I've been smoking 5 years, stopped 6.5 days before the test, and was so stressed out about not hearing anything that I smoked on again last Wednesday or Thursday, July 20th/21st, and of course everyday since like normal. Thinking that the results would either be positive or negative. I don't know what happens next. My next sample will probably be diluted again because I'm afraid to drop dirty. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I don't kow what to do, this is driving me crazy! N2 and any other informed members, what should I do and what do you think will happen?

Agree to the new test. Be sure you stop smoking now and plan to dilute again. Your next test may be observed, but if it is and it still comes back negitive-dilute, because it was taken under observation, it will be counted as a negitive and as the test of record.
If the re-test is not observed, I'd suggest you have a clean sample to substitute with ready to use. Then smile big on your way out of the clinic. Here is a link for you to read. http://boards.marihemp.com/boards/me...html?18x10329x

Thanks so much, you're the best N2! I've seen a couple postings with "positive dilute" and "negative dilute", exactly what does this mean? My prosepective manager just said, diluted.

When a urine sample arives at a lab, the first test that are done are the urine validity checks. These may include an aray of test including testing creatinine levels, specific gravity, pH, as wall as checks for nitrates and other additives. If a sample has a creatinine level of less than 20.0mg/dL and a specific gravity reading of less than 1.003, the sample is concidered dilute ... period. The sample then goes to be screened for drugs with the initial immunoassay test. If a panel is possitive for THC, the panel is confirmed with a GC/MS test. If the GS/MS is possitive, you have a possitive-dilute results. It's a possitive even though it is dilute.
If the sample is dilute and the initial screen is negitive, then the result is negitive-dilute. But because dilution may have caused the negitive result, the testor/employer can accept the result as negitive, or ask for a retest. Under SAMHSA testing guidelines the retest will be observed. Under DOT it will not be observed. And of course public employers can do which ever they like with non-DOT testing.

Have you ever heard of a company retesting after a two diluted tests? Is there any way to find out if a company is DOT, non-DOT or, SAMHSA? I am going to be tested by Medtox for Transwestern Publishing.

I don't recall anyony ever being tested more than twice for a dilute result. Sorry I don't have a clue if Transwestern Publishing will do DOT or non-DOT test.
