| Well, I did a search on the board about this, and couldn't find the right answer, so in fear of being added to the "stupid thread maker" list by the board...here goes. I understand from reading on the board that most companies ue either 1 of 2 criteria in UA's...DOT 50mg cutoff or non-DOT 20mg. If i come in at say 10mg on the non DOT or 25-30 on the DOT, wether its by dilution, abstaining, or just by the natural decay of the THC in my body, does this mean I would pass the test, and be hired, or fail, and have to reapply or miss out on the job. I'm trying to see if the test themselves are a "all or nothing" venture...that even if I test 1mg on either one, I would be automaticaly disqualified from being hired. I mean is there like a standard that all compaines adhere to? I ask this because I may have a test Thursday (UA) and I've been non-smoking for at least 10 days. No real fat burning exercises done and Im at least 220lbs, slow metabo. The test I was able to get information on was a simple cup test; not 100% if it was a home test kit used or sent to lab. I do plan on buying a home kit myself to take a reading, I was just wondering if the above questions are valid. |

| Tests are either "Yes" or "No". If you fall below the cutoff threshold you pass the test. That's why there's a cutoff threshold. If the tests were zero tolerance you could fail if you unknowingly inhaled a bit of second-hand smoke. Immunoassay tests (strip and cup) will not show anything if your sample is below the cutoff. If you fail the initial immunoassay test they'll send your sample for a GC/MS test for confirmation. Those generally have a lower numerical cutoff but it's effectively the same as the cutoff on the strip test because the strips test for 31 THC metabolites, while the GC/MS tests for only 1.
