I just took a pre-emp dipstick test, where you usually get the test results on the spot. However, my sample was too dilute so it got sent off to Quest Diagnostics. I'm 6' 135 lbs, male, and very active. Clean for 12 days. I passed a home test that wasn't diluted, so I shouldn't have diluted for this test, but I did. So I'm wondering if I bought myself a GC/MS, and if so, what are my chances? Quest will be testing the same sample that was too dilute for the on-site test. How?

I am not a habitual THC user..however..on rapid test for 10 panel urine test they sent mine off for GS/MS....... and it came back positive for the med I am prescribed. The MRO only questioned the validaion for the med I was on. I believe the dilution menthods posted...to buy you time.. but the ultimate, IMO., you can't beat this type of test as a habitually smoker without subbing... Good luck..

I also anticipate a possible question about a script med, but am not worried as it's legit. Since you have experience with a follow-up GC/MS without any THC probs, I wanted to ask what's your personal definition of a "habitual THC user." Has anyone out there who could pass the 50 ng/ml threshold (undiluted) had their dilute sample sent out to an indy lab? Do you know what battery it was submitted to? If GC/MS, will the fact that it was diluted help? Specific Q's I know, but anyone with similar experience, or relevant knowledge, would know what I need to know. Please share and we can answer many questions of this nature that will surely follow. BIG THANKS

I was assured if I passed the home test ( I use First step) which had the 50 cut off that it was the same as a GC/MS/ in terms of relativity. That turned out to be true for me..I passed home test and the GC/MS. However, the legit Rx. for benzo's...well, the MD wanted to confirm the RX. And he did..and end of story since neg THC. When I did the rapid panel 10 screen, I was told I was positive for something. I called the lab and they said they tested ALL 10 panels again, ie; not just what came positive. So, my RX. legit. came up positive. If an MRO calls you...it ain't good.. best from my knowledge now is to deny..deny,...deny... if it is marginal..there is hemp seed out there legal...do a search. but if it is above cut off of 15 for GC/MS I doubt any MRO would buy that. Sorry, I hope I am wrong...the worrying was the worst for me..that is why I called the MRO..but I wouldn't advise it if you truely have something to hide. I was relatively certain I was neg for MJ..........so.....had really nothing to loose but my mind!!!!!!!!!! Still regret calling HR though.. They are no use in the process except telling you good news or bad.

On further thought....did they disclose anything such as a chain of cutody form such as a had? On that..I was infomred I was positive or as they state "non negative" and off to lab. On that form, I notice the MRO has his input. If suspected dilute or sub....refuses to test. I am sure most employers to have policies to affect what happens next...most likely a retest.......
