| My sample was too dilute for the EMIT, onsight test, so it got sent off to Quest, for what I suspect is a GC/MS. Has anyone ever heard of this happening? I was under the impression that "too dilute," is just that and wouldn't be considered valid for testing, even for a GC/MS. If it were subjected to an EMIT, my sample would absolutely pass. Will Quest try that first? If it is put through the GC/MS, will the fact that it's diluted help? Wouldn't it be a waste of money to do that test on a dilute sample. Is there some way they can undilute it, i.e. when they turn your urine into a gas? I'm so nervous. I was supposed to get my results by now, but haven't. If I'm going to be waiting indefinitly, I'd really appreciate any knowledge any of those wiser than myself would be willing to share. Thanks A Lot!!! |

| I drank enough, that my piss would have been totally clear, if not for the B2. Indeed, I was told right off the bat that my sample was dilute, and would have to be sent off for further testing. That's what I find so strange; I've seen nothing on this forum about a sample already deemed to dilute getting sent for more testing. |

| I took a pee test in 1996 after I had stopped smoking for 42 days. I didn't feel the need to take a masking product before hand. I remember the nurse (who was actually very nice) telling me that my pee looked diluted. I think my urine is naturallly diluted anyway (except for first morning's) because I drink a lot of water and juice (hate pop). I passed that particular test with flying colors. I'm not to up on testing methods, so maybe the lab looked at it a little more closely. |

| Appearance is the least important factor in determining if a sample is overly dilute. The critical factors are creatinine levels and specific gravity.
