I'm taking a pre-employment urine screen on Thursday, September 22. I took an at home test this afternoon (the Saturday before) after mowing the lawn and doing some chores. I drank a cup of coffee in the morning, ate lunch around noon with 12 ounces of gatorade...so basically I didn't do any "studying". I took the test and though the pink line wasn't as dark as the control line, I tested negative. The test instructions do say that it doesn't matter how faint the line is, as long as it is there, then the test was negative. Should I assume that I'm clean then or is there a margin of error associated with home tests and are they different than the typical pre-employment screens?

My dillema is this.....I have been clean for 21 days..at least it will be 21 days come test day. I don't have to take the test on the 22nd but I'm going on a camping trip that same weekend with some buddies and sure would like to get a buzz on. I know the right thing to do is to wait as long as possible but the home test says I'm clean. If I'm clean I want to take the test so I can get back to doing what I enjoy....campin' and burnin' with the boys!!!

Indy, my bet is you're clean man. The home tests as far as I have heard are about the same as the random drug tests. If you have any doubt just dillute the same amount you did + alil more. Not positive though. Maybe someone will back me up on what I said.

I really didn't dillute at all.....I simply drank some coffee in the morning and had some gatorade with lunch. I just happened to stumble on a home test while at the store this afternoon and picked it up. I came home, wizzed in a cup, ran the test, and danced when I saw it was negative. I appreciate the positive/quick response. I may take another home test on Wednesday, the day before, and if I pass that, I'm going in on Thursday. I could wait as long as 7 more days before I have to take the test but I really really need a buzz!!!

The best way to use a home test to see if you'll pass an official drug test is to test the first part of the first pee of the day. If you get a negative with that you're home free. If you don't then you need to start thinking about dilution or substitution.

Substitution is a balancing act. Dilute too little and you won't pass the test. Dilute too much and you'll score "negative/dilute" and have to take the test again.

so i figured i would just post it here. I smoked like 2 blunts in the last week and a half the last one being on thursday...this afternoon i took one of the tests i ordered off ebay. it came up clean only 2 days after i last smoked...im not sure if the tests were correct or whatnot. im gonna take another 2morrow morning when i wake up just so i get my first piss. is it possible for me 2 be clean already? oh ya... im in texas so it was some schwagg. pretty good schwagg tho. dunno if that matters

I dont know, unless you got a bad test or are one lucky person. I would think that you would test positive, but with your past history you should be abel to go with the Dilltuin Method. Post back with your next test cause I took one once that said it was a definate positve and knew I was clean, so I took another one and it said negative.

When you say the first part of the first pee......would the first ounce qualify as that? Or should I test more or less than one ounce?

Just pee in the cup to the line needed on the test strip, no more no less that is all you need. Just use your very first pee and the first part as in when you start going. Also if it is a positive and you have the extra test's to burn try another one later in the day to see what it comes up with

I"m using doesn't come with a cup....it says to use a clean glass or plastic container/cup. I have just been using a shot glass and filling it up to the one ounce line.
