In the summer I'm joining the canadian army reserves because one of my dreams since childhood has been to be a Search and Rescue Technician or SAR Tech. I was talking to one of my buddies whose in the reserves and he said that you get a drug test when signing up.
I'm 6'5" 220 pounds, smoke daily (but small amounts, low tollerance) and I'm an exercise fiend. What do you think would be a SAFE amount of time to detox properly?

Stop smoking forever, that way you never have to deal with it. Marijuana is the baine of your existence. It will swallow you, destroy your social life, and make your friends and loved ones leave you. Pray to Jesus Christ, your savior, for the help and will to stop this horrific act of "getting high". Is it worth it?

I to am a smoker that just uses to relax and unwind. I have been clean for a few weeks now (eating right and such) and about the same scale as you. I have used home test kits and have that have shown negative the last two times I used them. Still keeping clean until after "THE TEST". I have many other intrests that keep me otherwise occupied. This and with what I do for a living, I need to be in full control of my faculties and have my head together. I am also new to the testing thing (in my time it wasn't around) but am no stranger to what you are about to do. I spent time with Air Rescue and have since found nothing to compare with the feeling you get when helping folks out of a bad situation. It takes a certain mind set to put yourself willing into what is a dangerous situation to save a life. The rush is incredible to say the least. I am sure this will be the same with you. Since my time doing this I have found no better feeling than to be able to help folks in any I can. I hope you make it and find it is what really trips the trigger for you.

I wish you luck, and if you fail they will let you retest, because you could argue that you haven't smoked in months.

I think I'm gonna pick up one of them home test kit's. What I've always wondered while reading these boards, are the home test kit's as sensitive as the workplace testing procedures?
